The moment you google Borderline Personality Disorder and you my as well have typed your name.

Description:
Almost everything is unstable: their relationships, their moods, their thinking, their behavior, and even their identity. It’s a frightening and painful way to live."

Me:
Almost everything in my life is unstable: my relationships, my moods, my thinking, my behavior, and even my identity. My life is frightening and painful.

Does anyone else read something on the internet and then just say "Yep.That's me" to their computer?

On the upside at least you know what you feel and do are real.

*Now go and google treatments and know you have help*

It sounds like you have had quite a hard and horrible road to get to where you are now.

I'm not much help but maybe if you post some of your questions some of us can have a crack at answering them. I know I'm better at answering questions than talking generally. I waffle too much when I talk generally. I probably waffle too much anyway actually!!! 😛

I was scared and so sad when i googled it. I wish i didnt. Yes i can identify and i agree with my diagnosis but i found that reading the symptoms like that was so confronting. I cried for days after i was diagnosed...i was ashamed to tell the people in my life who are my support and in turn i was ashamed that i felt ashamed. I still struggle with it most days 😞
I definitely agree with others about finding the right psychologist that has experience in BPD. Medication from a psychiatrist has helped me too, although i suspect it eases the symptoms of my other diagnosis which is a chemical imbalance rather than personality disorder.
I havent been able to say this stuff to anyone but my doctors so i really appreciate these forums and all the users 🙂

Hi @Lizz

I too have been diagnosed with BPD. It is scary when you read all the informaiton on google. After seeing a therapist for 5 yrs I am now about to see a psychologist who specialises in BPD.

This forum is amazing, lots of caring beautiful people who share their stories, help and always give support when needed. There is no judgement either.

Are you seeing a psychologist that specialises in treating BPD?
