My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Pdoc appointment went ok, H came with me.

Spoke about the med change that has to happen as I am getting too many side effects to a certain med. He still thinks this med I tried will work, it is just a matter of giving me enough of the new med and slowly taper me off the old one. Given my reaction to it and the increase in SH and SI, he will not let me do it at home. So I need to be admitted for it to happen which he wants asap. He did the referral today and emailed it off, so just now a waiting game until I know when I will be going in. Not my ideal situation and would rather be at home, but the decision has been taken out of my hands. He is going away for 2 weeks too so if I was to do a med change at home again, I would not be able to contact him if something went wrong.

Now the hard part of what to tell the kids. It is most likely going to be 2-3 weeks as an inpatient.

There are a few things I will miss out on in terms of the kids which are giving me those big feelings of guilt and the burden being put onto H's shoulders to cope with everything whilst I am in there. So lots of muddled up feelings this afternoon. Baby steps...

Re: My special place

That is really tough Hon but what you expected also - that doesn't make it any easier but it is safer that you don't try it at home again - especially with your pdoc being away @Snowie I am glad H was with you so he knows exctly what is going on and can support you through this also. I know missing out of things with the kids will be hard for you but they are better off having you around and feeling better down the track than not around at all - and we both know that is a very real prospect when you are changing meds. I am pleased you finally have some answers and a direction to go in - hoping this admission comes quickly for you Hon.

Re: My special place

I did expect it @Zoe7, he had discussed it on the phone to me and I had told H so we both knew it was coming. Now for the hard part of how litte/much to tell the kids. H and I will hopefully talk tonight as to what to tell them. It will be harder for D as she is older and has some understanding of what is happening.

How are you going hon?

Re: My special place

Between you and H hopefully you will be able to sort out what to say. D sounds like a smart cookie so that will be a hard conversation to have but often the truth (or at least part of the truth)is the easiest. Kids are resilient Hon so she will cope with you not being there for a couple of weeks if she knows you are being cared for too.

I am having a rest day @Snowie - another bad night and felt flat and tired all day. Slept for most of this morning and on and off this afternoon. Just putting it down to a bad day and trying to get through until tomorrow.

Re: My special place

Thanks @outlander, how are you going? how is your course going?

@Zoe7a rest day sounds good hon especially if you had a bad night. Hoping tonight is better for you. Have you been doing much painting?

Re: My special place

No painting today @Snowie more sleeping than anything. Watching tv now - couldn't even do that earlier but it is covering the noise of the wind a little. Planning on a very early night so this day ends quickly - I know you get what those days are like Hon

Re: My special place

Hugs to you too @Snowie What you are dealing with is far from easy but you have been doing well to get through each day for a long time now. This med change will hopefully get you back on track - it is just a bugger that it has to take so long - my thoughts are definitely with you Hon 💕
