How is your day going? Much going on in your life?

My day is pretty good, woke up extra early but somehow barely got any of the housework done that I intended to... got too distracted by knitting oops.

I was about to say not much else going on in my life, but actually my partner and I recently decided we're getting married. We've been quite lowkey about it as neither of us are huge on the ceremony and expectations that usually come with weddings, but it has been really nice starting to think about how we'd like to do our version of one.

Knitting sounds nice @Ru-bee, the housework can wait! Are you knitting anything in particular?

Been able to sleep in here (well try too) as son is on school holidays.

Managed a load of washing, thats about all. The ice maker has had a work out today.

That's great news about getting married. It is really nice to hear that you are going to do your version of it. Can be so much pressure from others/family about how it should be done.

I'm knitting a sort of hood/balaclava thing @Snowie getting ready for winter! Do you have any projects or crafts you've been working on lately?

And that's just prompted me to go and put a load of washing on so at least I can get that sorted when I finish work tonight.

Sleep in sounds delightful! I bet sleeping in turns into something quite elusive with kids around 😋

Yeah, I'm surprised with how much pressure I've felt just from myself and thinking of societal expectations and wondering if there's something wrong with not wanting to do something extravagant or if it's not going to be special if we don't want it a certain way. My counsellor gave me a good phrase to repeat in those moments though: "According to who?" and it's actually been really helpful
