My special place

Groot has his nose out of joint with the kittens here @rav3n but his a very timid cat and tends to keep to himself.. he will come for snuggles and all but very much on his terms.

I fostered Groot 2 years ago. Think I fostered him for like 6mths before I adopted him and didn’t do any other foster until these kittens. Although I kinda started fostering to help my mental health, my mh was too unstable to make any commitments and just lots of other things going on. I wanted to foster again but need to not fall in love and adopt. 1 cat at home is enough. And I was super keen to give baby kittens a go… and they usually have kitten seasons.

Hubby will have a coffee @rav3n but not as many as me. Three a day is a good day!!

That would add up, buying 5-6 coffees a day. Don't know how they can afford it!

His mum is one of 10 too, so lots of family on both sides. Both my mum and dad are 1 of 2, so a tiny family my side!

I met hubby when I was 16 years old. Got a part time job at McDonalds and he was working there part time too. We were on shift one night together and another worker set us up on a date. Didn't know him until that night. Went to the movies for our first date and the rest is history. We actually still keep in contact with the guy who set us up on our first date!!

Finally home after a big day.

Went to a family get together for hubby's dad side of the family. Saw his grandma who is still so switched on. Does need assistance walking but will be 100 this June!!

Were about 80-90 people there and not everyone turned up! Such a big family.

Small talk urgh, but got through it.

Home, pj's, coffee and couch. So much better.

There were 5 generations there today. Ranging from his Nan who is 99 down to the youngest who was 4 weeks old. So hard to remember all the names!

Pj's and couch is so nice. Think it will be an early night.

i remember gathering for my pops 90th birthday many years ago and there was 4 generations I think. Sad that as people have passed those gatherings decrease and no longer occur.

I haven’t had to best day. Popped to the shops briefly and then just been at home. I was expecting a visit from comm mh at some point over the weekend. They came today. 2 giant hmm men of colour whom I do not know. They didn’t come in. Just asked if I was ok. If I was safe 😩 think if the right people came I may of talked. But no. So have felt defeated and rather low all afternoon. My thoughts have not been ok

They do a family gathering every year @Bow and try and get as many people there as possible. Its been going for about the last 10 years now. We try and make it to them. They are organising a big family get together in June for her 100th birthday.

Thats hard if you didn't know the people from comm mh. How are you possibly meant to open up to people you don't know. I know I wouldn't. Its hard enough opening up to people you do know!

I'm sorry about your thoughts hon. That is hard to keep to ourselves at times.

Sorry @Snowie was just letting the kittens out to have a run before their supper and going to bed. It wears them out! They are so cute when they run around.

oh the 100th birthday gathering would be amazing. Hopefully everyone can make it.

yeah…. Hard to talk when I don’t know them. Oh well, my own fault I’ve got all this pent up stuff inside. I didn’t see my psych so can only blame myself

I don't think it's your fault for having pent up things. Yes you missed some psych sessions, but you did what you thought was right for you at the time. Thats what most of us would do.

Sure it might have been good to get some things out, but hopefully that can be done at your next appointment.

We have been invited to a neighbours place for Australia Day. After yesterday and all the people, I really don't want to go through it again today. I really should go with H so might just make a brief appearance. Luckily it is only two doors up. Really wanted to spend today cooking lots of meals.
