Something’s not right

My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

I've got nearly 20kgs in weighted blanket but I don't find them warm at all. @Snowie I have a 12kg weighted blanket and an 8kg one.

Oodies are so hard to wash though. So when I have one on the line, I get out the other to wear.

But yeah, I bought them and when they arrived, I realised I'm not going to wear so many so they are still in the package they arrived in lol.

Re: My special place

@rav3n I like movies based on real life the most. Will watch other genre's however. Haven't really got any suggestions for you.

If you want advice on an oodie I think you need to talk to @tyme, seems to know alot about them!!

@tyme I struggle to sleep without my weighted blanket. I think just the weight and the feel of security really helps. Feels like a huge big hug!

Maybe you will get to wearing them one day.

Re: My special place

@Snowie love those sort of movies too! i think the 'Imitation Game' is one of my favourites in that genre

@tyme just saw your list of oodies, what a collection!! the navy blue one is such a classic but also something about the colour is so comforting, i think i'm going to try get that one

Re: My special place

You’re funny @tyme @with all those oodies!!! Living in Qld I really can’t justify an oodie.

There was no music not dancing where we went tonight just lots of loud conversations. We were in a booth so it wasn’t too bad and we brought baklava home for dessert.

I don’t know if I’d cope with a weighted blanket @Snowie as I don’t like much over me in bed. Does it help?

I love going to High Tea but haven’t been for a while so I’m looking forward to it.

Re: My special place

Lol @Eve7 , very true. I wouldn't want an oodie if i was living in QLD. Totally get it.

LOL, loud convos. I can imagine! We don't have many good lebanese restaurants around where I am, but I love the food.

I love how fresh the food is.

High Tea! Nice! I like the experience... the food is so so... I don't feel full when I go! It's all nibbles...

I really like authentic chinese food. Once again, not many chinese restaurants around. I might be going for Japanese on Sunday for lunch. It's an all you can eat (order to eat) Japanese experience.

Re: My special place

@rav3n I especially love movies on WW1 and WW2. My favorite would have to be Schindler's List.

@Eve7 I think with weighted blankets you either love them or hate them. I love the feel of the weight over me. For me it feels comforting. For me, I do think it helps.

I took my mum and D to high tea a couple of years ago. They both loved it.

I really hope that you enjoy yourself. At least a really good distraction.

Re: My special place

yes Schindler's List is such a good one! @Snowie i went through a little phase of watching movies like Dunkirk, 1917, Hacksaw Ridge, etc last year - those films just stay with you forever.

Re: My special place

If you ever get the opportunity go to High Tea at the Hotel Windsor @Snowie I went with a couple of school friends once when I was in Melbourne. It was superb.

I think Schindlers List is a great movie too.

Re: My special place

@rav3n there are some films that just stick with you.

@Eve7 I can't remember where I took mum and D but will certainly check out The Windsor. Always happy to go somewhere nice and have yummy food!

Still watching the footy here. H is still yelling at the tv 🤦‍♀️
