My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie

I can understand that, my brain also likes to continue to interrupt my acknowledgements, but it's something I have to keep practicing and telling myself. Although, I work better visually, so if I see my list and I ticked off a task, I know my brain can't trick me into thinking otherwise.

I know not everyone is great with lists, so it's OK you work differently. I love that you've been able to get your thoughts out into your journal and that things have quietened a little up there!

Do you have any other grounding techniques in your toolkit? 🙂

Re: My special place

Thanks @PizzaMondo

I've been trying to keep grounded and trying to use my sp.

I am hoping that can help me today.

Re: My special place

@Snowie you are not making it worse, you are struggling, and that’s okay. We are human, we all struggle, some of us more than others. Sending you hugs 💖🫂

Re: My special place

I am glad you have been trying to use your SP today @Snowie - hope you can prioritise the use of your supports and also the activities you could spend some time on to ground and feel a little more comfortable 🙂

@Snowie Am concerned to hop on here this morning and find you're been suffering so much with SI and feeling useless and having to use your SP 😢

Sending care and hugs and wishes 💙

Re: My special place

Finally got an appointment at the Dementia clinic for mum in the next step in this long process. It's next week which is sooner than I thought it would be, so I guess that's a good thing. She is getting worse with just day to day things.

Meant to see the SW tomorrow but have had no correspondence from them for weeks. I guess it is not happening even though I got approved for it. I don't know who it is through so can't even ring and ask them what is happening. Another thing down the drain.

Will leave it there. No point.

Re: My special place

Oh wow @Snowie that's so frustrating! Really gets me when you get stuck waiting for an email response, not knowing if it's gotten lost or caught up in junk or something. And for a SW? You'd think they'd understand the importance of consistent communication. Sigh.

I'm glad next steps are happening for your mum, can imagine it's been super impactful for you and the family. Hope it leads to some respite for you hun 🤞💜
