Hi @The-red-centaur
Sounds like a really hard time, glad that there is an appointment coming up with your psychiatrist, hopefully that is a time you can hold on to for now. I havent experienced mania before but wonder if exercise or planning certain activities or ways to manage the symptoms of it that you experience wuold help much? Does your case manager visit or you visit her? could that increase for a bit until things settle a bit more?
Mostly though, just want to say i hear how hard it is at the moment and hope that the days go quick until you see your psychiatrist. I wish that we could see psych's 'when' we need and get emergency appointments 😞 Not sure why acute mental health stuff has to wait when it's as debilitating at times as a serious physical ailment that needs immediate treatment gah! (sorry rant over!)
keep writing here and sharing how you're going if it helps at all

Re: Mania

I spoke to my CM today and she's going to talk to my psychiatrist tomorrow about what's going on.

Re: Mania

I’m so sorry to hear that you are suffering from mania @ the moment.
I too have had mania and psychosis associated with bipolar 1 , my partner rang the emergency department and was put onto a mental health nurse and by the time we made it to the hospital she met us at the front and took me straight through to a room where I was able to consult with psychiatrist and get meds. It can be scary going to hospital but the most important thing right now is your safety.
I hope you can get the help you need soon

I do walk a fair amount though usually... think i'll stick with that! One of my fav places is office works! Im lucky there isnt one here or i'd be penniless... Hope the walk helped today!

Re: Mania

@Former-Member my psychologist got back to me yesterday, I have an appointment on Tuesday. I ended up in the psych ward Saturday night but thank god it was just a night. Things are really out of control so I'm hoping my psychologist can help a bit. Also seeing my psychiatrist in 4 days so yay. Rn I just want to sleep

Re: Mania

Hi @The-red-centaur
Im so hearing you about sleep 😞 makes everything else so much harder.
I'm sorry to hear that you were in the psych ward, but hope that you found some kindness and a little help there even though the situation we want to be in... Glad you are seeing your psychologist in one more day now, I really hope that it helps. I used to find that just knowing I had that appointment coming up would help me get through and be a light to reach towards (missing it so so much).
Here with you, hope today is okish...

Re: Mania

I spoke to my case manager today who spoke to my psychiatrist. Apparently he doesn't want me on meds. This is fcked. I can't cope. I want to tear myself to pieces coz I'm seeing shit and my mood is way too fcking high. I've been trying to process this info today and I just can't.

Re: Mania

Hi @The-red-centaur,

I'm so sorry that you are struggling at the moment with the news from your case worker. 😞 It can be so disheartening when your psychiatrist limits your access to a medication that you feel could help you cope better.

I just wanted to let you know that i have sent you a check-in email.

Please take care and continue posting on the forums for support, if this is helping you.

Kindest Regards,

Amour_Et_Psyché
