Something’s not right

i don't know what is happening right now

i don't know what is happening right now

I don't think my perception is grounded in reality at this moment. I keep seeing gigantic flies and dead fish all around me and I have been lying in bed for many hours and I keep seeing myself get up and walk to the door even though I am pretty sure I am still in bed. I see someone in the room but I think I am the only person in the room. I can hear people in the room and feel things on my body (maybe the flies)

This has only ever happened when I am going up/coming down from a manic episode so i can only suppose i may be going up since I've been very depressed before this evening. I dont like this and I want it to stop but I am not sleeping despite taking my usual medications which help me sleep. So I dont know how to make it stop. Maybe i should take more medications to sleep but I dont know if it will work. I want this to stop night now.

Hi @tiredgirl, that sounds scary what you describe. It reminds me of something I went through many years ago. Can I ask if you are under the care of a psychiatrist? If I was you, I would be contacting them ASAP. Sounds like you have bipolar (as do I). Perceptions like that qualify for some immediate attention in my view. If psychiatrist is unavailable, I would reach out to any supports I have, such as GP. Wishing you well. Maz

Hi @tiredgirl
It is so frightening not to be able to really work out what is real or not. I was also thinking that it would be good to let your Dr(s) know what's happening so that you can get the right help.
Here with you and hoping that the forums are helpful for you

Hey @tiredgirl. I don't think we've 'met' before now, so I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the forums.

I can relate a lot to what you have been saying in your post. I've had visual hallucinations as well as auditory (hearing things that are not there) and tactile (physically feeling things touching you which have no basis in reality). What you are currently experiencing sounds quite frightening. You mentioned medication, so I am presuming you are under the care of a doctor? Please make an appointment to see someone involved in your care (GP or psychiatrist), as you needn't suffer alone in this.

Don't forget we're all here on the boards to support you too, with empathetic, non-judgemental ears listening.

Re: i don't know what is happening right now

Good morning @tiredgirl,

Welcome to Forum Land. How are you going today? I don't have any personal experience of the sorts of things that you are describing, but it sounds like @Mazarita and @Queenie do. It sounds very scary. Have you been able to get some support over the weekend? Or perhaps today now that the working week has started again?

@tiredgirl ...im really sorry you are having such a hard time ...i agree with @Mazarita @Queenie @Phoenix_Rising ...speaking to a doctor and getting support is probably a good idea..they will keep you safe and you will have support so you dont have to go through this current episode alone...they will also make a call on your meds..maybe they need some tweaking to get you back on track...i hope you have a good day..im wishing u all the best
