Turtle check-in station

Turtle check-in station

Psssssst @Former-Member,

Look, this is me being super good and following @NikNik's instructions to keep threads on track (notice I tagged NikNik so that she won't miss this moment of my awesomeness ). Based on NikNik's instructions, I figured maybe we need a new space for checking in.

I am FINALLY feeling brighter after having my second session with TTT today. It is SUCH a relief to finally have connected with someone who I feel super safe with. It is tricky at the moment because we are in that super early stage where she knows nothing about me and thus I have to go through the whole looooooooong story all over again. However, assuming she doesn't get squashed by a bus or something, I can see that in time she will be able to help me unmuddle my muddle a bit.

It is super hard starting over. She knows so little about me at the moment and yet already she is being brutally honest about the fact that it is going to take quite a bit of time to unmuddle the muddle. I am a bit scared that as the story comes out more, we are going to shift from "this is going to take quite some time" to "I'm sorry Phoenix_Rising, but some of this is simply never going to be fixed." Sigh...

Anyway, I am so very very glad I found TTT. How are you and Mr Darcy going at the moment? Is it super hot in your part of the world. It has cooled down here in Sydney now. The other day it reached 47 degrees at my place which is quite absurd. Happily I have airconditioning so S and I just hid in the house all day.

Re: Turtle check-in station

@Phoenix_Rising, it is hard for me to tell how Mr D is going, after 4 evenings with crying (the last howling loud and long), he has had 3 nights without. He struggles to see how things can get better. At times I think he is doing well but then I see evidence of what I believe to be reduced cognitive function and I ponder the many diagnosis hypotheses that have been tendered, seeing merit in most but not all of them. I know from reading that all things point to a poorer outcome for him.

There are many questions in my mind, some of which I know cannot be answered.

In all of this I believe that we can live well in spite of his mental health diagnosis. I believe there are things we can do to improve quality of life and I am hoping to get some guidance in relation to this as I have been asked if I could meet for a carer communication session. This has been called as my observations are quite different to what Mr D has reported - feeling a little apprehensive about this in one respect - however, in the past Mr D's inability to articulate his symptoms meant that he was trialled on many different drugs to no avail and indeed with substantial deterioration.

Re: Turtle check-in station

Hi @Determined and @Former-Member,

I didn't realise it had been quite this long since I'd checked in here! I have been superly duperly struggling for the last couple of weeks. I've been banned from calling the helpcentre because my communication is too wonky and they can't cope with...well...me. Consequently, Operation Stay Alive is in full swing around here and it is likely to be this way for quite some time to come.

On a brighter note, things are going super well with TTT. She assures me that I'm not too wonky for her...it's just going to take an agonizingly long time to de-wonk my wonkyness.

How are you both and your respective partners travelling?

Hi @Phoenix_Rising good to hear from you, sorry to hear though that things are wonky for you at the moment and you are super struggling. Trust that with some help from TTT that you are able to get on top of things again soon.

Unfortunatly pdoc has not been too much help so a case of batten down the hatches and weather the storm.

Re: Turtle check-in station

Understood from DBT post that you have not been travelling so well @Phoenix_Rising. Keeping my eye on you from a distance and letting you know I am about if you need.

Pleased to hear TTT is going well.
