Re: rough time

Im thinking about getting a second opinion from a dr I seen before who was pretty good but I feel strange doing it. it feels deceptive or something even though I know im allowed to get second opinions.

it makes it a little awkward because my nurse is in the same clinic as my current gp and each time I see her it has to be cleared by a dr so that its covered by medicare.

its awkward going there if I see another gp after ive been told im fine by this gp. I don't feel like I can talk to my nurse about it either because she tends to side with the gp and its awkward saying anything bad or that I disagree due to my nurse being a collegue of my gp.

I don't really know what to do, but I spoke with someone else and they said I really should get checked out esp since no pain medications are working and its not going away plus it gets worse at times as well.

Re: rough time

It has to be about you @outlander . Its not right that you have been enduring this pain for so long. If one GP is not prepared to investigate possible reasons why ... then you are definitely entitled to seek a second opinion. And should do so. Everyone there should respect your right to seek that second opinion. Try not to allow the nurses possible disagreement with your decision to affect you. Its not about her, its about you. And you deserve to get adequate support and be listened to about your health concerns. I hope you can get an apt soon.

Sherry 😀

Re: rough time

Go for the second opinion @outlander. Enough is enough. You deserve pain relief at the very least. 💙💙

trying to find a doctor in my area who isn't :pile_of_poo: and who also doesn't charge private fees.
the good dr I wanted to see now also charges even with a pension card even if it is cheaper I still cant afford it atm. 😞

Re: rough time

the options here are crappy, its so frustrating trying to find a dr.
im going to either have to pay for one or try yet another gp in a whole new practice which im not to keen on or see another gp in my current gp practice 😶😶😶

Re: rough time

@outlanderperhaps seeing a whole new gp might be a good thing. You might find someone who is a good fit for you. I know it means starting from scratch again but a new unbiased opinion could be good.

I would be getting a second opinion hun, you deserve that

Re: rough time

ive made an appointment for Tuesday for the dr my mum see for this coming Tuesday @Snowie I jut have to wait that long, I committed to helping at even on sunday but I think I might have to cancel it. as much as I need to money right now I just don't think its a good idea esp when the pain gets severe enough I throw up or I get dizzy. I know there is a medical centre open the weekend that does walk ins as well so if I cant wait till Tuesday ill go on sunday after ive tried one final form of treatment then I can say ive really done a lot more then most would in this case. its going on 3 weeks and I just cant handle it much longer. im already sitting on my pain threshold.
