Re: rough time

@outlander, I'm sorry you feel like that. Is there something specific that has you feeling that way?

Re: rough time

@Shaz51 @Gazza75 i went to my gp this morning for some of my test results. she told me i have a rare infection. shes never treated in the time she has been a gp (which is around 10 years) and hasnt heard of many cases. they are taking a guess at how to treat it and if it doesnt work they dont know what to do. there is barely any information on it on the internet at all but what i am finding if its not treated properly there can be serious consequences. they dont know how ive gotten it either and with very litttle symptoms. my gp spoke with a more senior gp and theyve given her instructions on how to treat it- step 3 being a hospital admission but i bloody hope it doesnt come down to that. apparently i am lucky as most of these infections require immediate hospitalisation but i dont need to go there yet.

Re: rough time

apparently antibiotics dont work for it @Shaz51 theyve given me other treatments but its not an antibiotic. i see her after ive finished the treatment to see if its improved or clearing at least.
it does go away and its not a permananent thing but its rare to get it. the specialist i am already booked in to see- i just have to add it to the list. the infections in an area that i already need a specilist for but the gp isnt sure if they will know much about it either but worth a shot.

Re: rough time

@Shaz51 @outlander , thats tough news to recieve and handle. I'm sure the doctors and professionals will try and consult with each other to come up with a plan to help you. It sounds like they have picked up on it early and hopefully that's enough to stop step 3 being taken. I'm very glad you are lucky so far.

I can only suggest that you try and eat well, exercise and try to get good sleep. Try and stay positive and not worry to much.

Take care OL

Re: rough time

it took me 3 weeks to talk to her about it which probably wasnt the best thing @Gazza75
i didnt think i would get a result like this and clearly neither did she as shes never treated it before and rarely even heard of it. i really hoping step 1 and 2 will be enough.
