Sounds like they were having a great time! @Sans911 sorry he scratched you though. I hadnt really ever thought about whether cats get their nails clipped. I know some dogs do but didnt give much thought about cats.
Jasper seems to be one of those cats who likes to be around people more so you but doesn't really like the affection side of things. Just wants to know your there or close by sort of thing.

Jasper just came onto my lap for belly strokes and paw kisses! Aww... He can be very sweet. Yes, cat claws can be super sharp if not cut. And they carry lots of bacteria too which can easily lead to serious illness. I even cut the back claws as well. Both of them are always sharpening them on the scratch poles.
Yes, Jasper is the kind of cat you describe. He meows a lot as if to make sure you know he's around, and he follows me a lot of the time, but doesn't like to be picked up. He does like to stroked a lot though, particularly his cheeks, under his jaw and along his sides. But it's never very long. And he never falls asleep on me either. Mr A will give me nose rubs and I can pick him up more than previously for pats.
The cats I had before loved attention. They used to fight over the best spot on my lap! I had hoped to get at least one cuddly, lap cat this time but not to be.
