Hello everyone i have been away for a while as i have been in hospital for about 3 months but i am out now. I am having trouble with my medications though i am trying really hard but I cant get it out of my head that the medication is bad for me and is going to hurt me i dont know what to do i am on a treatment order so i am legally required to take it but that doesnt always help... does anyone else have trouble with their medications? what do you do? also my case manager is useless and i really dont like them so i cant talk to them about this and i kind of have no one to talk this through with atm.
Hi @Eden1919. I just wanted to say I’m pleased to read that you’re out of hospital.
I don’t have any advice about medication, but I do hope you find a way to be comfortable taking it. I’m proud of you for trying hard—please keep trying. 🌷

Re: Medications
@Eden1919. Good to hear you are back home from hospital. I've never been on a treatment order. I just take my medication as prescribed. But I guess that is easier for me - as I have depression and anxiety. There are times I don't want to take it & I don't - but I get sick within 3 days of not having my meds. I wonder why you don't want to take them. Is it that they don't work at all ? Or is it that your MI tells you they are no good? That last one would be hard to struggle through. Do you have a gp that you see, that you are comfortable with? Maybe you could talk to them about your meds and your concerns. It must be frustrating when you don't connect with your case manager. Maybe you could ask for a different one.

Re: Medications
@utopia I don't know if it is possible to get a new case manager I am too scared that if I ask I will get someone even worse than who I have now as that seems to be my luck. As for why I am having trouble taking my meds it is a little complicated but basically my head is saying that my doctors are actually trying to hurt me and that the medications are not actually medication but are really poison and are very harmful and also partly it is because I think that I have these magical abilities of sorts and I think the meds will interfere with that..... I know no one will agree with me but deep deep down when I am honest about what I believe that is it. I try and say to myself that I don't think that and that I think what everyone else thinks but I know that I don't. It is confusing and sometimes frustrating because I feel like I can never be honest about what I think with anyone but oh well. The doctors always say that stuff is psychosis but I always have in my head that they are wrong. I don't know it is hard to explain. I don't see my gp much and I am not that comfortable with him really....

Re: Medications
@Eden1919. That does sound bloody hard - when your head is telling you your meds are poison. That does sound like your MI talking. But your MI is so very real to you. It's there all the time, the way you say it. That must be a huge struggle - to take the meds or listen to that voice that says poison. I think if you told your Case Manager he/she would understand. Other people feel how you do. I wonder, aside from the voice saying it's poison - if you feel any better after taking these meds for 3 months already, while you were in hospital.

Re: Medications
I guess it is hard to know how much effect the meds are having when you are still hearing thevoices @Eden1919. I still wonder if a new Case Manager might be the way to go. If you're not going to talk to this one - a different one can't be any worse.
