The last couple of weeks, I have been mentally unstable, self-harming and suicidal. I have some real issues in my life but usually I can handle them. This came out of the blue and was pretty severe. Initially I was sure it was psychological but over the last three days I realised that it was mostly physical. I have increased my drinking water and eating vegetables and fruit. It started working yesterday and today I am feeling better. I remembered that two weeks ago I had to have strong antibiotics. So today I added acidophilus too. My mind is clearing up, my impulsive need to self-harm/suicide is lowering. The problems are still there and I do feel overwhelmed by them but not at risk so far.
Moral of the story, check your health, maybe learn a bit about natural treatments, especially around gut health. It is increasingly being linked to mental health problems.
Hi @Lemonjuice I have to agree with alot of what you say. Particularly the brain gut connection. There is alot of talk in autisic circles about how autistic children improve (autism wont go magically but) behaviours etc. improve with change of food, pro biotics etc. I agree with all of that which is why I have bitten the bullet and new years resolution is to get fitter organic food, vegs, no junk food, lots of water and gentle exercise.
I still would love a glass of red but not any more.

@Bunniekins hey, red wine counts as fruit and is good for circulation and cleaning the blood! Let's not go feral about health.
