I may not be around much in the next few days. It's not my choice but I want you all to know I'm praying for you as I try to do each day.

God bless my friends, thank you for treating me kindly. It's not something that happens much to me.

Gotta go, crying too much 😢

Oh @ENKELI I hope you're okay! Please be gentle on yourself and take care!

I think it's sad that you're not used to being treated kindly! I pray that will change. You deserve to be treated with all the kindness and respect!! 💛

Re: Christian Chat

Stay cool today! @Realness I'm glad there's a change in the weather coming tomorrow!

You are right! I am an extrovert when I feel safe. I went there nearly every day for over three years, so it felt like a second home.

I used to watch Days of Our lives with mum and became obsessed with The Bold and the Beautiful. I haven't watched them in years now but know I could catch up in a day! 😄

God love your mum, Realness! Do you get on well with her? Do you do all her caring or does she have someone coming around to help?

I wrote a poem about the flood two years on and read it at the anniversary. I should be okay to post it with a trigger warning

TRIGGER WARNING: FLOOD TRIGGER WARNING: FLOOD

Two Years On

Survivors of the apocalyptic flood

None of us are the same

You can call us resilient

Because so much has changed

We've been through the horror

And come out the other side

I can't leave anyone behind

As many dreams have died

It's a new chapter with sadness and joy

Two years further on

Many will never return

Wondering where they belong

Many homes sit still

Destroyed beyond repair

I want them to know that they matter

And that I still care

Some are okay, some are well

While others still cling to hope

Each on their own journeys

Learning on the way to cope

The community is rising

Like a Phoenix from the mud

Their fighting spirit comes through

Because it's in their blood

We continue to move forward

I love a new start

There's a new song I sing now

A song from my heart

Bravo neighbours

Now much bigger than my street

We'll always have a bond

Not knowing the word defeat!

2024

Hi @heartathome ,

I just watered the garden. It is hot! And blowy. And that's 8am in the morning!

Thanks for sharing the poem. A whole community impacted by a massive event. Even now the grief must be raw. Do people talk about it all the time? Or is it something some people don't like to mention?

Mum is still pretty able. We manage together.

Hope you have a lovely day.

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @AlwaysMyself , @REDLINEZ750 ,

John 2

- Jesus turns the water into wine.

- Jesus goes to Jerusalem for The Passover.

- Jesus clears our the Temple of all the people selling and money-changers. "Stop turning My Father's house into a marketplace!"

- When asked what right He has to clear out the Temple Jesus replies: "Destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days." Jesus is talking about His body.

- Many believed in Jesus because of the miracles He was doing.

- But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, since he knew them all ... knew what was in man.

(Again in this chapter John goes back and forward in time showing the disciple's understanding of Jesus fulfilling prophecy or fulfilling His own words while on earth.)

"Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, since he knew them all . . . knew what was in man."

Re: Christian Chat

I didn't read the bible and John 1 yesterday. Thanks for summarizing it for me @Realness !!

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Doesn't that tell us that He wasn't flesh before? It sounds like it to me.

I'm thinking of changing my heart colour from this 💛 to 💚. Green signifies mental health awareness and wellbeing. What do you think. Yellow is bright and sunny, though. It was also my dad's favourite colour. I'm not sure. It will probably take me six months to make a decision! 😄 Do you have trouble making decisions as well?

I hope you're keeping cool! How hard would it be without aircon! Brings back memories of trying to keep my boy and myself cool with cold showers and laying on a mattress in front of a fan under the house. It was the coolest place at home.

They were hard days bringing up my son with little to no money and petrol. We didn't go out very often but made the most of around the home. The hose was a cheap relief! My son believes he had a good childhood so that's great! 💚

@Appleblossom @DownMoreThanUp

Sending healing hugs your way @ENKELI 💛

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome ,

I agree - Jesus wasn't flesh before. It's impossible to imagine what it would have been like. To be God in Heaven and then be constrained to a human body. Especially an infant. I think even God is only willing to do that once.

Colours don't show that well on my phone. The yellow heart is more a tan colour. The green one is green. Maybe I should look at my display options. All the colours look a bit dark.

Six months to make a decision? Sometimes. Depends on what it is. Depends on how hard it is to do whatever it is. Depends on what is impacted by the decision.

Oh wow. The mattress under the house in front of a fan - what an image. I lived in South Australia for a while. Really cheap rental. No insulation nor air conditioning. I suffered on those multiple day heat waves. But then I worked out to stay in the same place and put frozen drinks in front of a fan.

That's wonderful that your son thinks he had a good childhood despite them being hard times financially. I'm not surprised- a beautiful Mum like you giving him attention and nurture.

I've just been watching a sitcom. I am up to the second last DVD. It has taken me months to get through the over 30 DVDS. It's been good but a bit repetitive.

Rumour has it that the cool change is arriving early!

Re: Christian Chat

I just lost a whole post :face_with_rolling_eyes: @Realness ! Grrrr It was about John 2. I was hoping that you don't feel pressured to put up your summaries for me! Some days you may not feel like it and that's okay! I mentioned that as well. 💚

I think even God is only willing to do that once. Yep. Totally agree. I think it's sad that some devout people in the Philippines still voluntarily reenact the crucifixion of Jesus. It's not endorsed by the churches but is tolerated by local authorities as a cultural-religious expression.

Ooh. I hear South Australia can get really hot. I never thought of ice in front of the fan. I used to keep a wet flannel (face washer) in the freezer and put it around my neck. I swore I would never do that as my mother had one constantly around her neck. I didn't want to be like my mother. But there I was and it was amazing! 😄

I literally had to look up what a sitcom was. :face_with_rolling_eyes: Is it an old tv show that you're watching? When my son was unwell, he used to watch a sitcom all the time. I don't know if I'm allowed to say what sitcom it is.

Here's to the cool change. 🎉

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome ,

How frustrating to lose a post. My loss. I don't feel pressured. I can't believe it's possible to post such a summary. I feel so enriched posting the summaries.

Have you heard of high-probability and low-probability actions? How a way of getting a low-probability action done is to do it after a high-probability action. For example some days I only get to do my Bible study if I have done an undesirable cleaning activity first. Sometimes there are things I need to do instead of the Bible study in the morning.

I don't like celebrating Good Friday for the reason it is the crucifixion without the resurrection. It is incomplete. I think they should always be remembered together.

Yeah, I also stayed away from naming the sitcom. It is an old black and white one. About a funny lady with very red hair. Is that the one you use to watch?

Well I went outside for a bit to see if the cool change has arrived. Ooh it was intensely hot. So not yet. The washer sounds appealing. It's amazing how effective the neck, temple and wrists can be in cooling down.
