Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Hi @Former-Member, love that post, thank you. We do need reminding the Lord is "the same yesterday and tomorrow" and is by no means fragile.
So need believers to talk to..recent supports here, while well meaning and empathic, I just miss sharing of faith. And somewhat indignant when unbelievers tell me to apply my faith. Recently someone I respect but who doesn't believe flippantly referred to my Lord as "YOUR God" Something inside me stood up "how dare they!" Weird. Think maybe ta offensive because they are quite clearly saying "yourvGodvs not my God" and frankly, I'm not sure I should be in relationship with them. It's very had to live in a world of unbelief. And even harder to have MH struggles with nowhere to go that doesn't threaten my faith. And even many 'churchgoers' prefer to distance from Mental illness. It is hard to see the fruits of the Holy Spirit in someone deeply depressed, I guess. But I know how it is as I've been on both sides. Don't they know the 'heart' is still there, even when the mind is malfunctioning. If people could just look to the heart. And stop seeing faith as a delusion and treat people as individuals...
Sorry, just feel alone, but glad to find faith statements here. Helps so much 🙏

Re: Christian Chat

My mh took a nosedive yesterday and I would have loved my Christian friends to have been close by instead it was my forum friends who understood and held me.

Today I will try again to be the person God wants me to be.

Thank you for your posts @Former-Member @Former-Member I have a bunch of tough anniversaries coming up.

Re: Christian Chat

I have to put my hand up to being ignorant and not knowing about mental illness or how to encourage those at church who may have had such difficulties.

My continued prayer is that I love as God loves and that I have wisdom and words of encouragement to all. I am privileged to count in my closest friends women who have battled depression, bipolar and other mental health challenges.

@Former-Member@Eve7 @Former-Member ...

I'm thinking I shouldn't underestimate how good it is that my church has a number of understanding members who have themseles struggled with MH issues, or have family members who have. But we, and our Older Daughter, have come across people who don't "get it" that faith can co-exist with MI. Some of the deepest, most passionate Psalms were written out of grief, despair, and dare I say, depression, but the conclusion even in all that is "if I say, I'm sure the darkness will hide me, and let the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you- the night will shine like the day..." (Psalm 139:11-12) So... we've got a God who is there in the deepest darkest places, even the darkest places of our own minds.

I know something that's occured to me in the middle of hard times is that God's got a better grip on us than we've got on him. "Holding on" isn't dependent on the limits of our strength, it's dependent on his, and he doesn't ever get tired.

Re: Christian Chat

@Eve7 @Adge and each of us in the faith, who are struggling with bad anniversaries and mountings triggers... we gotta take refuge under the whings of the most high untill destruction passes by...

As @Smc says, it's not OUR strength that gets us through, but God's. We just have to surrender, trust, endure and stay the course 🙏

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @@ @Smc @ I was just reading back here, and found a post of yours I must have missed a couple of weeks back. I really liked that you said:
"faith can co-exist with MI... "

"Some of the deepest, most passionate Psalms were written out of grief, despair"

It is true that there's much in the Bible from Godly men and women in distress. How their faith sustained them. And many before Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit.
And sharing your own faith in hard times:
"God's got a better grip on us than we've got on him"
and
"Holding on" isn't dependent on the limits of our strength, it's dependent on His, and He doesn't ever get tired"
Thank you Smc, Really needed this tonight, please keep reminding us 🙏
