Christian Chat

Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Hi @Former-Member , thanks for the tag.
Me... a lot of the time I feel like I can relate to Paul (2 Cor. 4).

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair."

I've wondered how Lapses is getting on too. Hadn't been on this thread for a while so hadn't realised Bella's also moved on.

Re: Christian Chat

Just looked up that passage @Smc , than you for sharing.

Over the last couple of days I have been listening to hymns on youtube bring some light and joy in the current trial.

Last night darling came in and when she heard it playing started sharing with me hymns she has downloaded over time. It was a tender moment together.

I think I may have shared this or similar in the past but was sharing it with one of our boys earlier this week when he was looking for answers and wanted to share it again here as a meaningful illustration.

Hi @Former-Member thanks for your post. I hope you’re doing ok atm, and same for @Determined @Faith-and-Hope @Smc

@eudemonism I’m sorry thatt things are so very difficult for you & that you need frequent rest periods.

I’ve had a couple of great days this week but not so good lately. I’m losing faith in myself & my future. I’m realising that even excluding the depression there’s dysfunction due to my lifelong ‘overactive’ mind. I find it hard to prioritise & filter out analytical thoughts to arrive at a course of action even when well. It’s almost impossible when I’m sick, but somehow with effort to battle extraneous thoughts I do function to a degree. Does anybody have any insights or tips? Can’t have faith in God or myself much & am constantly feeling inferior & not succeeding as a mother, wife, worker etc. Thank you.

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @Sam3 .....

Generally when there is an issue or particular behaviour that is bothering is, there is a treatment plan or set of strategies that can help.

You have identified that you have a major struggle with an “overactive” mind.

I had a quick look at this link -

https://m.wikihow.com/Calm-an-Overactive-Mind

and it was full of suggestions .... perhaps too many to consider at once. If you skim read it, there might be something in particular that stands out to you, like the part that says “what is your anxiety trying to tell you - instead of trying to shut it down, hear what it is trying to warn you about and focus on dealing with that bit, which can calm your thoughts for a while”.

Prqcticing self-helps strategies can make a big difference. Otherwise, there are counsellors who specialise in these areas to seek advice from, and perhaps be guided through applying the techniques.

Have you spoken with your doctor ? A CBT course might help you.
