New to the forum... Can we talk about Workcover?

Hi Everyone new here I was wondering if workcover was taboo in here too? The are no online support forums for mental injury workers to chat and support each other. You get sucked into the scheme and isolated which only injures you more, but no one will risk online communication fearing it will harm their case but I need to support and I believe MI should not be silenced ever

@Puzzle. Some of us here talk about our WorkCover claims or our court cases. It's not a taboo subject.
It can be really beneficial to write down here what is happening to you.
I know many times I've had a big whinge aboutWorkCover on here. IIt's therapeutic.
I'm happy to listen - if you're happy to share.

Re: New to the forum... Can we talk about Workcover?

Oh finally I can talk about it. WC has nearly cost me my life several times in the six months since I was mentally injured and lodged a claim. Im still fighting the system and my claim has not even been accepted!! Lies, deceptive conduct, massive privacy breeches and I havnt received a cent or any medical treatment
And no support 😞

Hi @Puzzle

Welcome to the forum. Workcover is not taboo here.

I am on workcover and have been for about 5 months now. I went on work cover becasue of numerous incidents in my work place, with then lead to past traumas arising.

I find it a difficult road to travel and find I have to keep "proving that I have a MI"

I am happy to talk to you about my case or help you with yours. If you want to tag me just place a @ before my name, so @Former-Member

@Puzzle - has WorkCover sent you for a Review with a psychiatrist of there choice, yet?
Do you have a psycholigist or counselor you see, who can then writs to WorkCover confirming your stress, anxiety, MI etc? Also your family gp can also do that.
Another thing is to contact your union. Seek advice from them. They will also be able to tell you which legal firm represents that union.
This year I had to use the lawyers to fight WorkCover on my behalf. And we won. But it was a 6 month fight and it does take it out of you and make your MI worse.
