I'm just calling in @Evie1 just before I log off for the night. Has something triggered you off to have this bad anxiety (I'm presuming the shaking is from anxiety, so please correct me if I am wrong)?

Hi @Evie1, with a wave to @Queenie.
So sorry to read that you was so shaken and afraid last night. How are you this morning? Not sure if this reaction is from anxiety, but it sounds like it could be. Would you like to elaborate a bit more about what may have caused this. I know you say you are terrified over nothing, but clearly thats not the case. You have been triggered by something. I suffer from ptsd myself, and recognise what you've described as an extreme anxiety reaction. Perhaps its similar for you? I'd like to help, but realise there is little I can do other than to offer you my understanding and kindest thoughts, and to let you know you do not have to go through this on your own. You have support here.
If you still feel the same now, as you did last night, it may be worth seeing if you can get in to see your GP and discuss this with them. Or if you have a psychologist or counsellor, perhaps you could talk to them. I can speak to my psych on email sometimes which she encourages. Is that an option for you?
In the meantime, remember to breathe - in ... out .... in .... out. Think calm thoughts. Find a 'safe place' for yourself and try to place yourself there.
I really hope you're okay, and would love to hear back from you.

@Evie1. Have you received any counselling or assistance at all since your assault 4 days ago? Have you reported this to the authorities?
I'm so terribly sorry to hear of what happened to you. I too was violently sexually assaulted and know all about the aftermath of such an event. There are so many thoughts and emotions going through your head and heart after such a thing. Please .... if you havent already done so, can you go and seek some professional help? It was 21 years ago that this happened to me, and I never sought any help for many years afterwards. I kept it to myself and never told anybody for something like 18 years. I wish now that I had done so all those years ago, because it may have helped to prevent the development of PTSD. And it would have given me a support network to help me cope at the time. Instead, I never reported the crime, I never sought psychological assistance and I never spoke of what happened to anyone. I just retreated and isolated myself. This is not a good thing to do. I would strongly urge you to seek support from professionals, close friends or relatives if you have anyone around you that you trust.
I will also try to get someone else on board here who may be able to offer more help than I can provide. I dont know what moderators are on today? @Former-Member is anyone able to help here?
Please try to remain calm Evie, and know that I understand and wish only the best for you. I hope you can bring yourself to seek help. From personal experience in such cases, I believe it is very important.
Thanks for getting back to us. If you will accept it, I offer you a heartfelt consoling hug. Things can and will improve for you, but it may take some time.

Thanks @NotLabelDefined. @Evie1, I am not familiar with SOCAT, but hopefully it is an organisation who is able to provide support and guidance for you. Well done in calling them. Let us know how that goes, and please keep in touch with us here to let us know how you are.
