Weighted Blankets

Weighted Blankets

Does anyone use or have used, a weighted blanket?
I'd love to hear your feedback on them.
Where did you get it? Would you recommend that company? Is it necessary to get a double blanket (I'm a big gal) or is a single blanket okay?
What weight is your blanket?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Weighted Blankets

@Bunniekinsdefiently not petite!

I only got it yesterday so can't comment on how to wash it. I am guessing I do. There is a zip on it so I am assuming I take them out when I want to wash it. If you want to sleep with it then I would go a lighter weight.

Hi @Snowie 😸 I didn’t realise weighted blankets was a ‘thing’ . But after reading here it reminded me that I preferred woollen blankets for that reason. It’s more relaxing somehow 😀

Re: Weighted Blankets

Hi

I am from Australia and in my experince it is the best blanket you can have it is worth every penny It is made in such a way that it helps to ease stress and increase calmness and made you feel relaxed.

but still studies on the use of weighted blankets are limited.

When you hug some one so feelings are great so same the weighted blanket works it gives deep pressure that could have an impact on the central nervous system, calming a child who was over-aroused or overactive.

I have used weighted Blanket and got guidence and still from my point of view it is worth it

Re: Weighted Blankets

I just got my weighted blanket a few days ago. Actually got it the day before my diagnosis of BPD. I do think it helps but it's also hard cause being summer in Oz it does make me quite hot and being menopausal, well lets just say, heat is not my friend right now. But I figured out if I just sleep under it and not the doona as well, it works really great. And my cat absolutely LOVES it which is weird cause she is sleeping on top. 🤣

Re: Weighted Blankets

Oh wow. Is there nothing ALDI won't sell.

I got mine from Catch.com and paid about a third of what they are on offer for. I was a bit worried that it would be sub standard being so cheap, but it seems good quality.
