Crisis in the middle of the night

Crisis in the middle of the night

Ive been going down hill for the last few weeks. There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. No more than usual hapening. Just feeling worn out and tired of the constant ongoing struggle. I saw my psychologist on Thursday and she remarked that it was evendent i really didnt want to be there. She was right. But there wasnt anything that was causing it. I guess i was just feeling withdrawn. Friday i saw my psychiatrist and i was very upfront with her. She did try to help me with putting a plan together.

Last night i just felt exhusted and tired of the constant struggle. I tossed and turned then i started cry......sobbing into a pillow. Lasted over an hour I felt completely overwhelmed and out of control. I tried to ring the mental health crisis line, but was kept on hold. It all felt too much. I really dont know how i got through it. I ended up hanging up. The distress....I didnt know what to do. I was not feeling suicidal. Just so distreesed that i cant do this anymore. Left me feeling exhausted. Still feel flat. And aprehensive about tonight. Being alone.. Needing some kind of comfort. The last time i was like this i was in hospital. Dont want to go back there. Just lost.

Re: Crisis in the middle of the night

@Chris - sounds like a very hard night to get through on your own. Hopefully your mh team will be able to answer the phone tonight, if you need them.
Distractions are good. Trying hard to forget about your worries (never easy)- by focusing on other things tonight. Is there a movie on tonight you'd like to see? A friend to call and have a chat with - or who will pop over and sit with you?

Re: Crisis in the middle of the night

@Chris I have been feeling similar the last couple of weeks also. Feel very much for you as I know how hard it is - especially when feeling alone in it. You are not alone here, keep posting if you feel the need. We are here for you.

@utopia had some wonderful suggestions - all which helps me at those times. Distraction is very helpful. As is ringing up someone or seeing them in person to talk your distress through. Is there anyone you can do this with? Ringing a crisis phone line may be helpful also.

I withdraw when feeling like that too. I have to push myself constantly to do anything when feeling that fatigued. Are you sleeping at night? Are you worried about anything?

Hope you find some moments of relaxation and peace tonight. Moment to moment @Chris for now until it passes. Thinking of you 🤗

Re: Crisis in the middle of the night

Still not good. Have an emergency appointment with my psy this morning. I spent some time talking to my adult son a little while ago. And its as i thought. He thinks im going well. Back into gardening, cooking meals and desserts, cleaning. Ok so i havent completely stopped functioning. But it is in no way an indication of how i feel on the inside. I feel like im at the end of my tether. I cant do this anymore. Im so tired of the continual struggle, and the older i get the harder it gets. This morning i feel like im starting to swing in the oposite direction. Irritable short tempered anxious. I have bipolar 3. I had to stop the mood stabliser as i became toxic. I am half expecting to be told i need to start a different one today, but it causes weight gain which i cant afford to do. I know there are no easy answer's. I just keep telling myself i have to hang on somehow.

Epic fail

She was running over half an hour late. I ended up walking out.

I messaged her later, but no reply.

Hi @Chris

I am really sorry to hear about your therapist running late, which made you feel like wanting to walk out and you did, a really hard thing to have gone through, I hope she replies soon to explain and reschedule. What are your plans for the afternoon, is there anyone else you can reach out to for a chat? It is good you are on the forums for some extra support, we are having some iced coffee and chocolates if you would like to join us here

Lunar 🙂
