@Former-Member

that sounds like a great distraction. Some people like meditating and things like that, but I think doing an busy activity where I am very distracted is helpful to take me away from all my problems in my head.

Re: Whatever

Just a short board, I used to ride my Yammie and my bf took the boards and camping gear.

Best reef I ever hung out on was Nias, off the coast of Sumatra. I was not really surfing then/more travelling and learning about landscape and local culture and watching them use lamps at night to collect lobster and stuff. Amazing memories of a lifetime.

Oldest of 10 .. WOW ... not many families that big these days. It would mean not a lot of caring, parental attention and teaching yourself a lot.

I hope you find people your own age to relate to here. It iseems to be growing. Forums are a social experiment really. It all depends who and what is posted, but with good will .. good things can happen.

Btw .. Digging with a spade is one of my anger management strategies. ... lol

Edited: Glad something is on the horizon. It can be good to share a group with your brother.

Hang in there Mate.

I have felt I hated the world but now I dont. We go through many feelings in a lifetime.

Cheers

Re: Whatever

I would love to have more opportunities to surf. There are some beautiful beaches about 2 hours from where I live - just a matter of finding the time to get there!
After going this long without surfing I probably wouldn’t even be able to get up on the board anymore! Haha!

@Appleblossomwow sounds awesome i love a slow ride on a longboard

yep so i pretty much spent my whole childhood raising my siblings while my parents did err... things parents shouldn't do when have kids to look after, lots of drugs and all that. anyway i did everything for them i'd put them to bed and make sure they are dressed and all that sometimes would miss school cause i wanted to make sure they were ok
so yeah pretty tough
i have a half brother somewhere out there too only met him 3 or 4 times

yeah i like the forums
wasnt happy about joining here and having something i liek taken away from me but i dont mind it here at all

Re: Whatever

@Former-MemberThe Lagundi Bay break on Nias is perfect for long slow rides. Due to the position of the reef. I was there 30 years ago but some things do not change that fast. Now they have a surf camp there. But it is far enough out of the way ... Look it up. Better than Bells. After there I went to Lake Toba which totally confirmed my love of country and the planet. When I returned to Australia I studied Earth Science.

I have a crook neck so do not rides waves or motorbikes any more, sadly. Most of my current thrills are from music and some neat animals at our zoo.

The drug culture is very tricky. Hard you grew up with it all around.

Glad you are HERE.
