@TAB the respite centre I'm at is an alternative to a voluntary admission to hospital if you are relatively safe (even if you are suicidal) and willing to participate in recovery. It's fairly relaxed environment, and you can come and go as you like. I gave my car keys up for my safety today, not because I was asked to. I've had chronic SI with multiple SA and other related problems. My problem is my SI has escalated out of control, because several things have triggered it this afternoon. I spoke to the lead nurse b4 he left, but it wasn't enough to stop the escalation. I then spoke to a helpline by chat and because I was thinking of doing something, they've called the police, who've alerted the nurses. I'm now the hospital waiting on a dr. The respite centre wasn't a bad option. It's just nothing much is helping lately. I'm trying to hold on, but there's not much left for me to feel good about. I hope that kind of explains things.
