Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

I like your challenge and i'll take it on!

@Former-Member

so...

1. put on some music in the afternoon (mum music not the wiggles!)

2. Go out for a coffee and get cake as well!

3. Make cupcakes with the kids and let them go crazy with the decorating 😄

I like your dream @plasmo

I have had weird dreams in the past when i was pregnant. i dreamt my baby would be born with no eyes and i was so freaked out the only thing i wanted to see was his eyes when he was born lol fingers and toes pfft who cares! lol

I'm hoping to go to bed but waiting to feed mr slithers the python.. I thought his dinner would have defrosted and warmed up by now but no such luck! I think he can smell it though by the way he's searching out every inch of his enclosure!

I'm so glad you are @Former-Member. I was hoping you would😊💜

You'll have to post mr slithers in all creatures great and small. We're working on getting Noah's ark up and running I think😄

Have a good sleep. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day😊💜

Re: Night Shift

He's a central Australian carpet Python or called a bredli he's reddish with brown bands across he's back but he's looking quite dark at the moment because he's close to shedding. I can't upload a photo off my phone and my good computer died a month ago so I can't get any photos up at the moment. The old laptop I'm using keeps switching off if I try to do anything exciting on it ... Like have more than one program open at a time or use clip art .... Aghhh

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Former-Member, I'll join in too with your suggested 'three things to pamper ourselves over the weekend':

1. dye hair so that I feel a bit more glam

2. give myself a foot massage with scented oil

3. fresh bedding for sweeter sleep.

Hi @plasmo, cool that you went to the doctors and feel good about that.

Hi @Former-Member, last time I read you talking about your python, I think you were only wishing you could get one. How long has he been part of the family?

Re: Night Shift

@plasmo, good on you for getting out and doing it. Is the doctor far from your place? A year ago I couldn't even get myself to one to renew needed prescriptions. Now I look at going to the doctors these days as a chance to get myself out of the flat. Always feel better afterwards, both for the getting out and the feeling of looking after myself.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita its not too far away, he's a bit efficient though, would have liked to spend longer

Re: Night Shift

@plasmo, sometimes if I need to spend longer with the doctor I schedule a 'long appointment'. That means they've got double the time for you so you can get through more than one or two issues. Have you been seeing this doctor long?
