Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Pizza? @TAB

Reminds me of the kids here. We've been away for 5 weeks in India. When we came back, I asked them the best part of their trip, and they said "The food". I was surprised... then they said, "The pizza"....

Hey @Mazarita @PeppyPatti @plasmo 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Yes I took my two sons to California and we went from Monterey right down to Mexico : so all they wanted to do is watch cable. When we got off the plane back in Perth all they said was telling everyone how awesome it was. All I remember was taking them away from the television in motels

Re: Night Shift

HAhahaha @PeppyPatti ! That's exactly it! The kids loved the trip to india because they had unlimited rules! No seat belts, go out whenever you want, ice cream every day, and ipad time galore!!!!

Was it India they enjoyed of the lack of rules lol!

Too funny @PeppyPatti

Re: Night Shift

Clint became Mayor of Carmel. Play Misty for Me was good movie if ..scary ..
@PeppyPatti
Play Misty for Me(1971) was filmed on location in and around Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey, California. Clint Eastwood chose this area for his directorial debut to showcase his favorite local spots, including his own home, the Sardine Factory restaurant, the Monterey Jazz Festival, and the dramatic coastline of Big Sur.
Key Filming Locations:
  • Dave's House: 162 Spindrift Road in Carmel Highlands (often cited as Clint Eastwood's own home at the time).
  • Radio Station: Located in the Carmel Rancho Shopping Center, with exterior shots featuring the Carmel area.
  • The Sardine Factory: 703 Wave St, Monterey (site of the restaurant scenes).
  • Monterey Jazz Festival: Held at the Monterey County Fairgrounds.
  • Coastal Scenes: Various scenes were shot along the Big Sur coastline and near the Bixby Creek Bridge.
