Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Spent a lot of time in bars at night I did. @EternalFlower Take a request here n there. but mostly played to half full glasses , empty eyes and deaf ears. Wonder why people feel the need to feel depressed in company.. They'd loosen their ties and there jaws and look for tea leaves of fortune in a bourbon glass.

Never new the same story could be told so many different ways. Cigarettes would burn down to the fingers, wake em back to misery, and they would just tell the same old story again.

Love, loss, she cheated, he hit me, the game was rigged,. . . . I could have been. . . If only.

The story of us..

Truth , Lies, doesn't matter. The man believes it, the bottle dont care, Bar tender sweeps the the butts n lies up, last drinks folks and tomorrow they do it all again.

Me , I'm just a prop in the corner. Same songs, over n over, a two bit radio could do a better job.

Glad I'm simple. Invisible. Last months news paper and a corner table will do, and I'll take my bottle to go. Ya know, do my crying on my own time. . .

Hey all on the night shift watch

My eyes are wide open. Rough night here. Too much on my shoulders right now and no support...completely isolated.

I have found my one friend who is a front-line worker the best ti talk to, she fully gets it, and everyone here. Also paramedics don't sleep normal hours so we text sometimes late at night

Wish I was able to rest but I get hypervigilant trauma stuff sometimes...smallest triggers and then awake for hours.

It is not like this every night.

I am a little over it though

Hi @EternalFlower I couldnt stay asleep. been awake 2hours now tidying, looking for papers for appt next week, which turned into looking for print cartridge that may or may not still be in house, so guess will buy new one lol. hope things settle a bit for you
