Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Yes, my mood is lifting slowly, it is nice to be speaking with friends again 🙂

I was playing a game and upset someone, so I am in the middle of a panic attack now. I am sure it will pass, I just find socializing such a mind field what is acceptable and what is not.

I don't know about being interesting, I think I am quite boring personally, but thank you for the kind comment, it means a lot.

I hope you are asleep by now and not up like me.

Take care my friend.

Jacques

Re: Night Shift

Hi plasmo had another sleepless night, headache bothering me, eyes tired from lack of sleep, was hungry got up and made a toasted muffin and Peter made me a Luke warm milk and far too sweet honey drink after I asked for hot half milk half water drink. Super sweet one will worsen headachewhich will mean taking more medication. Told him he doesn't listen to what Iask for and how long I told him to mike it and we had an outburst from me because he didn't apologise for giving me a super sweet almost cold drink both which He ought to know after 47 &1/2 years of marriage, that I hate. He stormed off out of bedroom in sulky huff and I turned to Sane forums and had my 3 Rd headache tablet for night. Also started off with melatonin tablet at 10 pm. Then sleeping tablet at 1 o'clock and still I had very little sleep.Have to go to Bairnsdale for specialist appointment follow up for colonoscopy today 12 o'clock leave home about ten so we can go shopping at Aldi as well. Then lunch and quick trip back to Lakes for Physio appointment only $15 dollars with concession at 3:30. It will be worth it to check everything is Ok and maybe get a massage and follow up exercises to help it heal faster still very painful. Pap smear was cancelled yesterday and new appointment made for later in month. Feel calmer now.will check out exercise and goal setting posts and some of the other threads. Cheers to Jacques, Shaz 51,peppermint Patti, apple blossom Draconian? And Liberty and welcome to new posters here at Night shift.

Hi @Former-Member

You can't do everything at once - oh man - neither can I

I start tidying my affairs at a different place each day and do a bit here and a bit there and somehow keep ahead

But I could not do all that stuff you are being ordered to do - I would be a total wreck - totally understand

If I had someone telling me "I could do this - I could do that" I think I might go on strike - there's lots of things I can't do - I think I'm getting old - or something

But I hear you - I get it - somethings are too much of a commitment - just getting through the day is hard enough

My best thoughts

Re: Night Shift

I did not have a good night last night

I felt uneasy and irritable for some reason - not normal for me - but this time of year has bad memories in it and I would rather not think about them

If I had to have a disturbed night it was a lovely starry night - I went outside at some time to look at the stars and planets - and right overhead I could see Mars, Saturn and Antares closed together - fantastic

That is not everyone's idea to get up and go outside to see - I knew those heavenly bodies are getting closer together in the night sky - but I was tired off my face this morning - it took time to wake up and then get up -

So good morning Jaques, Appleblossom, LisaJane, Shaz, Peppypatty, Butterfly and a few others - I will get to know everyone's name in time

It's a great day in Melbourne - really warm - ah - half way through autumn and I am wearing shorts

DEar @Polly48

I just read your message and I know exactly how you feel about the husband thing.

Can we talk about it in about a week when your headaches may be more settled and I'm not in chaotic mode ?

It feels like you have a lot on your plate

Apeak soon, PP

Re: Night Shift

Hi everyone

hugs @PeppiPatty i hope that things settle foryou soon... would be nice if life got a chance to be 'boring' for a bit with no bumps/dramas to recoup.

Hi @Decadian i havent been sleeping well and my concentration is really bad so im not really keeping up with the posts very well... Your last post about the stars though reminded me how nice the night sky is. I used to live in central aus and would go out swagging off of the oodnadatta track soemtimes and the night sky out there was just like staring into another world. I wish i could go up there right now lol! Not sure my kids are up for the 20 hour ish drive though lol - one day though i want to take them throughout Australia.
