Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Oh I am in a pickle, shall we say?
My psychiatrist is a piece of you know what...she wants me in the carpark so to speak...

Re: Night Shift

Thanks @Jacques....

I had a "goodish" day... We went to Brisbane & had the most delicious pizza ever & cake (vegan of course!). I went to the optometrist & was discouraged that my private health insurance changed how much they pay towards optical & I have a really expensive prescription... anyhow, I had some $$ from the advance & I cancelled my psychiatrist for this month, so I used that $$ too - Hopefully I'll be able to pay off the rest over two months.... I didn't get many gifts... I always liked gifts on birthdays... I feel silly & petty... Now Matt has some weird movie on - that is really arty & reminds me of psychosis... I feel pretty depressed.... Sorry...

Namaste,

A

Re: Night Shift

I am so glad you went out for some nice lunch, yes, glasses are really dear these days, have you tried the cheaper optomitrists? you can get 2 pairs for $249, anyway i hope you got a pair you like, If i could have i would have sent you a big bunch of flowers 🙂

Maybe you could spend some time on your new laptop while your partner is watching his movie?

It is ok to feel down, you are going off your meds, just take it easy and allow the meds to filter out of your system.

Take care,

Jacques

Re: Night Shift

I have really bad astigmatism - the lenses are more expensive, because they have to make a really thick prescription thin or I'll have goggle glasses.... if that makes sense...

I am on my laptop...

I'm becoming more anxious about everything & I'm not sure exactly why - probably just need my stupid meds, but have to wait for my partner to make dinner....

@BamBam - don't let your doctor put you in hospital if you don't feel it will help you

Hospital can sometimes do more harm than good...

Keep yourself safe

Be kind to you

Re: Night Shift

Dear @PeppiPatty...

Sending healing vibes to your son...

My partner's sister had a benign brain tumor - now it is completely gone - medications helped shrink it - it caused epilepsy, but now she is completely fine & has two sons & rides her horses again...

It must be very stressful...

Sending you calming hugs,

Namaste,

A
