Hi I might be going out to dinner tonight. It will be with new people. I want to try to enjoy it and not focus so much on myself abd how i mught be perceived by the other people there. People will talk about my height because they always do. It makes me cringe because I feel like I should carry more weight being as tall as I am. I feel weak. I honestly feel like avoiding the experience but I know from experience that I regret doing that at all times. But I equally can't figure out how to make myself feel happy/satisfied with who i am. Avoiding the experience will do nothing for getting better. How do i make myself feel better about myself?
tbh though i guess its good to do regardless of how it went.. part of the learning experiemce i guess

@MDT depression is such a horrible thing. You isolate because you don't want others to see you so down, and you don't enjoy stuff like you used to. But you need to get out of that isolation & your head too. I think you did well to get out amongst people, even just for a little while. And depression feeds us such lies about ourselves & how horrible and unacceptable we are.
It doesn't get any easier to socialise even when you're older. It's still a learning experience & I certainly still feel awkward around even people I know. I'm terribly self concious about so many things about myself.
Try not to be too hard on yourself. Probably everyone else in the group was self conscious about something as well. Small steps @MDT is what you are taking. And that's enough for now. I think you are probably just fine as you are.
