I'm in big do do and thinking stupid exit plans. No worries. These are thoughts only. I'm not planning any action on these thoughts. I'm terrified that I'm going to end up homeless again. Sometimes we are more expansive, but trimming back sometimes can help.
We do have some room for choice but in my experience it is rarely a completely "free" affair. There are many aspect which determine our current position. It also takes time to come to terms with what are actual position may be ...

You are the best one to judge your own circumstances, but try and do that with a discerning (best for you and children) approach rather than a merely judgemental one. Sometimes the concepts are used interchangeably but they can be quite different.

It sounds like you ar doing an amazing job @Former-Member ..... and part of that is having high standards for yourself .... but the flip side is holding high standards over yourself, and thinking in a punitive self-deprecating way when you can’t reach or maintain them.
That is a core situation amongst our lot over here .... so I say very gently .... please don’t be too hard on yourself .....
