♥️ @Former-Member ......
Try to keep the focus on the kids’ special hand-made Christmas stuff when they’re with you, cos their Dad will only have $ to offer them .... teach them to make paper chains from old magazine pages, (eg. predominantly green pages results in green paper chain) .... and threading popcorn ..... making gingerbread (you can get a boxed kit from the supermarket for a gingerbread house, or Santa sleigh, or Christmas tree made of gingerbread stars). The kids are old enough to do these activities near you for supervision, but quite independently.
I can tell you from my kids what a difference it made that our Christmas tree and decorations was all about them when they were growing up. It’s only when they were older that things got a bit spiffier .... but they still put gingerbread wrapped in cello onto the tree, and choose a new decoration each, each year.
Making stickers, ribbons, etc available for them to wrap their own gifts is good too. Take it away from commercial as much as possible cos that’s the special part that you can give them .... the home-grown stuff.
Hiya @Zoe7 ..... 🤗💕
I see you there ......
