Re: Taking the plunge

I think I really do need to speak to my GP about these headaches. I keep saying it but that needs to turn into doing it. I should be able to get a plan so I can see a chiro and maybe once school goes back I will have more time to do things like that. On that note, we are at our last day of school from home today 🎉 Gosh it feels like it has been a long time coming!

@Maggie I was piecing together some puzzle pieces and remembered that a while ago (like a couple of years ago), you mentioning in the nest that teddy bears were really tricky for you. I think it was around the time a teddy bear picnic themed forum party was being planned. Random memory but I was thinking it was probably about when you cleared the house of them. It made me think about how much we really don't know about what people are going through and how big stuff can be so hard to talk about. I guess it just added even more respect for the tricky.

Huge step to have some on their way again. Did it take a while to find the 'right' ones?

@Former-Member there's so much in Mr Sherry's life that sounds very difficult to manage and work through and so many factors that would play in to how hard it is. Does he open up to his psychiatrist etc about what it is like to be him?

Morning @outlander. I haven't quite caught up with where you are at but I know you're going through a lot. Super tough and lots of hugs.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Faith-and-Hope post incoming eventually. Tried writing something up quickly but not going to happen before my appt in a moment. I hope your headache settles also. Imagining uni would be busy at the moment. Hope the juggle is OK enough

Re: Taking the plunge

My headaches pass once medication kicks in and then ease throughout the day @Faith-and-Hope. It's muscles in my neck and shoulders I think. Stress, poor posture, sleeping badly... either way it's a pain and if I don't get on to it, it's a knockout kind of pain. Better this afternoon though.

Good to hear you're taking it moment to moment. It can be very overwhelming otherwise.

I wanted to reply to your post yesterday as something stood out. You mentioned physical violence and how hard it can be and yes, it is. But my experience, as I've heard from many, was that the emotional, psychological manipulation, power, control etc is the real twisted up stuff. It is harder to see and to identify as not right and it is harder for others to see too. It chips away at everything about yourself. I guess I wanted to acknowledge the damage of other forms of violence as I think you have had some experiences with it. Just because you can't see it doesn't make it hurt any less, and I think not seeing it can actually make it hurt more. I am very sorry you have been through the things you and your family have too.

Your baby dragons are lucky to have you and your love, nurturing and support. You are awesome.

😘

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Yes, you have a very good memory. I’m piecing bits and pieces together about the teddies. I spoke to counsellor today, and realised, by getting rid of them, I might rid the memory also. It was/is too big, but like you said yesterday, it’s learning to live with it all, or manage it a bit better. Learning to listen to the internals, work with them, but it’s all of them, and that’s tricky. I’m poly fragmented, so there are lots of us. Really embarrassing, but, it’s my reality. Once the teddies arrive it will be tricky. But bit by bit, we will do it. As always, thanks for listening and caring, even when it’s over the top tricky and twisted.

Glad your headache has eased. I hope once the Crew return to school, you will have time to care more for you. Roll on Monday. 🎉🎉🎉💜💜

@Faith-and-Hope . Sorry about your headache, and needing to push through the uni stuff. I hope there’s relief somewhere in today for you.💜💜

@outlander I love the pics. Thankyou. Pop will be off for a few days now, I hope you are doing ok.💜💜

@Former-Member Hope all is ok at the eye specialist. 💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

Just a fly-by here ..... but wanted to say that you are right on the money @CheerBear .... so coercive and twisted that you are caught in gas-light-fog ..... can't even work out safety vs imagining things, loving vs abusively controlling, etc ..... it's the web the kids are not only stuck in, but the facade is totally believable, in a double-think sort of way ...... sooooo glad they have mi support now ..... very necessary to help them work it out and extract ......

Thank you so much for the moral support - means the world.

Thinking of y'all, but gotta fly.

@CheerBear- "there's so much in Mr Sherry's life that sounds very difficult to manage and work through and so many factors that would play in to how hard it is. Does he open up to his psychiatrist etc about what it is like to be him?"
Very true CB ... Mr Sherry himself is difficult to manage, but when you add in all the complex and serious disorders that he has ... well its near impossible. I know every time he has been in hospital all the specialists are always saying "you are a very complex case". And they always want all their trainees and registrars to sit and talk with him about his history in order to learn. I get quite sick of it in all honesty, because Mr Sherry always has me go through it all with him. Does he talk about all this with his psychiatrist? Judging from what I have heard, the simple answer is no. His psychiatrist has tried to convince him many times to start seeing a psychologist ... but he refuses. He has no time for them at all .. if they cannot prescribe meds, then they must be useless. Thats his thinking anyway.

Re your headaches CB ... likely tension/stress related, as it affects back and neck considerably ... for me too. And possibly for @Faith-and-Hope too.

@Maggie... eye specialist was a long wait and in and out doing different things ... all as expected. 9am appointment and I got out at just on 11am. It started well too, I went in only 5 past 9am for step one. Then back into the waiting room to wait for an hour to see specialist. In there to check a few things and talk for 5 mins and more drops and back into waiting room for another half hour. Finally back in and another check up. End of the day there isnt much they can do other than keep an eye on things and get back there urgently if I again get the flashing lights in peripheral vision. Because thats a sign of a torn or tearing retina. Had thought laser could help, but not really an option apparently, after further checks. Just have to put up with obscured vision which sends me dizzy at times. But the good thing is that I have a good healthy macular and no glaucoma. 😵

@Faith-and-Hope and @CheerBear ... agree with you both about the visible vs hidden abuse. 😔🌸
