Taking the plunge

Ha ha, @Maggie @CheerBear @Sans911 .. yes my Holly is very adorable. But also quite spoilt. Good thing she is not a naturally naughty dog, or she would have taken advantage a long time ago. She is very well behaved actually. Even her evening demands for her dinner ... she somehow makes it seem like an enquiry rather than a demand to be fed. Almost like ... do you know what time it is? Arent you forgetting something ... like my dinner? She can clearly tell the time 🤣. She will stand in front of me and wait to catch my eye ... then crouch down on her front legs (like a bow) and yap at me. Then as I go to get up, she is all excited and bouncing around like a young puppy.

Maggie we are coping okay with her deafness. Although its hard to reassure her at times. Like if a stranger or visitor comes, she will bark and get her hackles up. When she could hear, I would just tell her its okay in a soothing voice, and she would be fine. Now ... its kinda hard to sound soothing while shouting. So thats a bit hard to manage. But we are leaning sign language pretty well. And when she is sleeping I have been careful to ensure I dont startle her. Just a matter of being aware, and being gentle I guess.

Today is a beautiful morning. Cool, but sunny and calm. Perfect. Holly and I have been out and fed our budgies in the aviary and our fish in the pond. About to get Hollys kibble and glucosamine chew now. Then I might go wake hubby up and get some breakfast done for us. I'm thinking an omelette today.

Other than that, I hope to apply sealant to the diamond painting I completed last week. The one I made for hubbys birthday. I might take a photo and post it to the craft thread later. Will tag you all in, when I do. Not much else planned, a bit sore and sorry for myself, so will be having a quiet day I think.

After a bit of moseying around to see what everyone was up to around the forums this morning, I got up with every intention of starting into breakfast and study, but made the mistake (?) of picking something up I the final junk corner of my room ...... which has led to an hour of sorting out ..... which has led also to some lovely surprises of finding things that I had been wondering what had happened to. That has been the best way to start my day ❣️

Bonus - it's the weekend, so I can put down the hypervigilance around legal emails and find my study headspace 🤞

Loving hearing about the fur-baby antics ..... Nelly will walk up my body, but stop at my waist. She is still not cuddly, but sleeps snuggled into a nook somewhere, like behind my knees, or in front of my tummy, or by my feet, but usually close to the edge of the bed ..... so if I move, it will cause me to bump her off the bed ..... ?! Not sure how to teach her more sensibility about that yet .....

Nelly sounds delightful. 😕😸😸 I’m usually the one hanging out of bed in this house. My girl will sleep in the middle of the , with me twisted around somehow. It’s a single bed, so not alot of room, even if one is tiny and bossy. I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💜💜
