Re: Taking the plunge
We were talking about Autumn colours yesterday and I mentioned how I was looking forward to seeing them @Maggie . Last night while taking out the rubbish I spotted this hiding in the big green of the apricot tree and it made me think of you.
One lone yellow leaf. It has a kind of heart shape to it too which nase me smile 😊

Re: Taking the plunge
Switching to deskmode @CheerBear ??? I drive an iPad, all basic as. Just turning on a computer pose challenging.. I’m impressed......very impressed.
Yes, there is so much really tough stuff. More now than the norm, whatever norm actually means. People have to protect themselves, so they can go on helping others. You are inspiring @CheerBear. I don’t think you are aware of how much to do do. 👍👍👍
Ph calls would be ok. It’s nothing like meeting in person though. The Skype stuff...nope....I freak out with getting a photo taken, so I live me would be more than scary. 😂😂😂
I hope you take out some paint @CheerBear , it’s so good for peace of mind.

I can’t see the pic yet @CheerBear , but I found this yesterday. I was going to share it, but it didn’t seem appropriate.
How a photographer captures a moment we might miss forever.

Re: Taking the plunge
The desktop mode is a button on my phone and tablet that makes it look like I am using a computer @Maggie. The screen gets tiny and fiddly but there are more options on the forum (like changing the size of a picture and choosing what album to put it in). I think you do amazingly with technology. I imagine computers and internet stuff were not something you grew up with which makes it extra hard. We got the internet hooked up at home in middle highschool. It was fun for sibs and I but very intimidating for our parents. My kids were born with devices in their hands 😆🤓
Thank you for your very kind words ❤
Omg I so hear you with scary you on video! I don't like being able to see myself on the screen when I do video chat, at all. Because I will be spending a lot more time on calls and video I am looking at getting a comfy headset to use. I found one with awesome cat ears and might get it with the hope it will distract from scary face 😂🐱 I am glad you would go OK with phone if you needed to, but it isn't the same as face to face, I agree. Hopefully counsellor can continue coming out 🤞
I'll really think about pulling out paint. I want stones though (fussy much!).

I can’t see your pic yet @CheerBear . Looking forward to seeing the first glimmer of autumn.
Computers came in when I was in my 30s @CheerBear . Ex was all over them, I hated them. He got our first, which looks huge now. A large monitor sat on a flat square box, with a mouse to operate it. I think discs and floppy discs had something to do with it too. Sounds Chinese now. 😂😂😂😂
I’ve never done Skype, I somehow hoped to see the person being talked to, not me.
Too spooky to even comprehend. 😫😫😫
I like the sound of comfy awesome headset.
I’m still boggled by people who have a phone attached to their ear. It’s a weird world @CheerBear .
I really liked that pic too. Amazing.

Re: Taking the plunge
Haha with the computer. Ours was the same. Huge box and huge discs. I used to have to type some kind of command in to get it to open from memory. Tech much more user friendly now, though so relied upon it could be overwhelming.
Skype and Zoom etc can make the screen with your face very little in the corner (and probably have the option to turn it off too). It's weird but didn't take too long to become normal-ish I guess. I started doing non face to face counselling with my counsellor when we were in crisis accommodation even before we hit the refuge. The similarities between that time for me and this time for many are there. I had a test run at this 'lockdown' time a few years ago maybe... 😉 (gotta watch it doesn't trigger too much though).
I am about to do a feral looking, bra-less, scary bed hair, pj run to tradie hour at the shop. No milk - that's an issue for the coffee situation!
I hope counsellor goes well and your day has some good in it. Mega ❤

Re: Taking the plunge
Good morning @Maggie @CheerBear @Snowie @outlander @Faith-and-Hope and anyone else here. Hope today contains some positives.
I'm still waking up oddly. The last couple of weeks I've been much more alert earlier in the day. Had a more broken night last night than I have lately too so that's part of why. And meds (the same ones tho'). I think a large part of it is a crash from a few weeks of extra adrenalin running.
Just remembered there's another CDAH zoom this morning so will head over to that now.
Take care and stay kind xx
