Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear , that sounds uncomfortable for all of you. I don’t know how anyone sleeps in the heat. Will you have a chance to rest during today?

I hope some of yesterday’s “ worries “ have eased in your mind, though that might be a stretch.

Yes, washing machine arrived. Yes to clean undies.😊😊👍👍

We are expecting 30 today. That’s REALLY hot for us. So not much will get done here. I don’t do heat well at all.

I think I’ve landed after a huge adrenaline rush. Never taken to crash landings.

Lots of these for you today. 💛💛💛💙💙🍓Starting off tired, with two sleepless nights is a big ask. Go as gently as you can.☕️☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

I struggle in big heat too @Maggie, especially when it's hot overnight. One had a bucket thinking they'd be sick, one woke with the wind, kitten struggles once it gets around 30 (she's a worry with hotter today). Everyone turns cranky, feral, sooky, needy... not ideal. How's the temp inside your new place? You have heating I think but how about cooling?

The worries have eased in my mind a bit, or are feeling a little less intense and huge. It's either some healthy perspective/rational thinking or it's that I'm so tired I don't care today. Maybe it's a bit of both. Either way, less intense is helpful. I'll have to rest today somehow. Psych appt early but nothing else planned. Psych is always a good thing to have on particularly when things like sleep get wonky.

That post big adrenaline crash landing is tough. So understandable but difficult 🙁 How did you spend your time in the hole yesterday (if you'd like to share but I get you might not want to).

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Cranky, feral, sooky and needy, with a kitty worry, and temperatures rising is a big day ahead for you. So pleased you have your psych app today. Talking things through can be helpful, sometimes not though too. I can get over stimulated with too many thoughts. Just sorting through my own is challenging. Sometimes counsellor and I just sit quietly together when that happens. Sometimes it’s just good/caring company that’s necessary.

I have air con. How good is that. I might test drive it today. I didn’t do anything in my dark hole yesterday, just hung on tight I think. It gets rough caught in the storms of life. I always get surprised by the forces, though I “ should” be used to it by now.

Re: Taking the plunge

That quiet space is so precious and incredibly helpful sometimes @Maggie. One of the most memorable conversations I've ever had was one where not a word was spoken. It was magic. So good to hear you and counsellor can do that ❤

Different one with psych today as this is one of the first appointments we have an actual plan and to-do list for. We've been talking about officially writing up a kind of crisis management/recovery plan in a traffic light system kind of way. That's today. It'll be helpful 🙂 I had my usual appointment for talking things through booked for tomorrow but I've rescheduled it as I was asked if I could pick up an extra shift at my gig. Being in a space where I felt OK enough to cancel the appointment and pick up an extra shift, despite the wonky that's happening, feels really good. I was given a beautiful thank you for the extra work I did last week and it was so cool to read. More of the same from the big boss in an email. This gig stuff is making a huge difference to me and my confidence (as I harp on about always 😉).

Seriously yay for aircon!!! I hope it works well and helps out with the heat. What a difference this place might (and hopefully will) make to your life!

Hanging on and riding it out is the best way to do it sometimes. It takes a lot out of you though I find. The power of those storms really can take you by surprise even though they've been experienced before. It's hard to describe what it's like to be in. The power of them, the way they can blow you away if you're not holding on, the fight to stay afloat... massive. Lots of respect for what that's like.

Sitting with you always and here for you through it.

Kids to nudge up and out, and lunch boxes to see to.

Will leave one of my favourites here. Thinking of you (all)

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear An extra gig, and so much appreciation for who you are and all that means there and elsewhere. Big positive feels there for and with you. 💙💙💙

Crisis management plans sounds scary and good together. Necessary, but sad it’s necessary. 🙃🙃🙃 Life has tough patches, tracks and blind spots. Navigating is important.

It took me some time to get the hang of quiet sitting being ok for me @CheerBear . I think I’ve been a doer all my life. As much as I like doing and helping, I got lost in the takers out there. I hoped to find acceptance for me, not just what I do. That never happened. So when this started I looked for the catch. 😫😫😫 I even said “ You can’t seriously expect me to do nothing”. Since meeting this lady, so much has turned upside down and inside out. Big one was finding my voice, and realising not all would celebrate my find. I’m getting stronger, even with a shaky voice, pounding heart, I’m learning to speak my thoughts, even if they make no sense to anyone else. Scary, challenging and healing. Slow and gentle.

I know you understand the storms too well @CheerBear . I’m sorry you are on this road, but there are hidden treasures, but they will only be treasured by a few I think.

Re: Taking the plunge

There's so much to appreciate, respect and celebrate in your post @Maggie . Lots of feels reading that. I hear you with looking for acceptance for who you are not what you can do for people, and how difficult that not coming can be. Also big to sit with the realisation that not all would celebrate you finding your voice. I know for me that finding my voice was met with not only someone not celebrating that but actively trying to shut it down again, and that was hard and dangerous and not OK. Thinking you might have experienced that also. I am so thankful you share your voice with us here. It matters. You matter ❤

Yes for quiet reflective times and quiet communication.

@Maggie @CheerBear @Former-Member @outlander @eth

I still need to learn when the differences when being quiet together is good and when it is not good.

Yes its serious code 3 in my state (Vic) today.

Yes @Appleblossom and others

It is very smoke and hazy in Melbourne today - strong NW wind with a change approaching

And I have done it - I have successfully posted a picture from my new phone - I feel rather pleased with myself and the new phone

Dec

This hasn't been adjusted - it really is this hazy in Bayside Melbourne
