Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member Im so sorry you feel that way.

Can I point out one thing for now .. Thank goodness we are all individuals.

Each with our own way of interacting, and way of talking. Each with our own needs. Each with our own strengths and weaknesses. Each of us with our own sensitivities.

We are all unique. And we all have a place here on the forums.

None of us can always be on the giving side of the ledger. Although our lovely Guides including @CheerBear go a long way towards that. There are times we are each more needy than giving. Or I know I am. But the beauty of these forums means there is room for all of us, and there is always someone around to support us in our hour of need. Then we can return the favour when we are in a better place. This system works

Please never discount the supportive posts you make to others when you sre around to do so. They are valuable and they are appreciated. And .. they are enough. I get it when you say you feel, but cannot always say, what you want to. You dont seem to realise @Former-Member , but your often short messages or emojies actually say a lot. Often, the fewer words used, the more impact your message has. I wish I could say as much in one sentence as you have the ability to. Instead .. I waffle on and lose track of what Im saying, and meanwhile readers have lost interest and switched off.

You dont need to be or do anything, you just need to be present and to care. And I know you care, it shines through all the time.

I hope you will stay, but honestly, if being here is causing you distress .. I understand if you choose to take time out. People will welcome you back tho when you're ready to return. Only you know what is best for you.

Love and hugs.

Sherry 💜

Re: Taking the plunge

I am here now @Former-Member but cant stay for too long. I have things I need to do soon.

Sounds like your drinking has become a problem again. Can you tell me if you have been drinking today?

I understand its very easy to resort to that when our lives are in turmoil. Anything to lessen the pain and reduce the senses. But its a very temporary oblivion Bardot. And it only makes things worse. I know because Ive been there and done that. Im sad to say I occasionally go there still. But I have worked on this with my psych, and Im getting better at using less destructive methods of coping.

Drug and alcohol issues are very common for those of us with PTSD @Former-Member . So you are not alone with that, and nor should you feel any shame by admitting you have a problem and need help with it.

How is your D going?

Re: Taking the plunge

Im sorry thats the case @Former-Member 😟

Drinking excessively every day means you are never giving yourself a chance to deal with, or resolve, any of the issues which are driving you to drink in the first place.

I would really urge you to seek some professional help around this @Former-Member . Can you start by seeing your GP and talking to them. This is not new, its been getting progressively more difficult for you for some time now. You are dealing with so much .. it would be reasonable to expect that a little bit of assistance is needed right now.

What do you think?

@Former-Member I have to go now, but will check in again later.

You have our lovely @Maggie here now I see. And I think perhaps @PurplePanda2 is looking out for you too. Please take care sweetie, you matter.

Re: Taking the plunge

💜💐💕💜💐💕💜 .... @Former-Member

I was so pleased to see you back ... you mean more to all of us than you seem to know.

I don’t always have words, and when I don’t, I either use pictures, or let someone else do the taking and then add in that I agree with what they have said .....

Sometimes I just go quiet. It’s not that I don’t care. I just run out of words, or my life is too rocky and I have done a bit of a shut down, but am still here and clicking on the Support button.

Others do that too.

Whatever you can give, or whatever you need to receive, we are all just here for each other in whatever capacity we can be.

Sending you some virtual hugs.
