Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I must have lost a day this week 😩😩😩😩 Belly laughs are good. I can imagine it being hard without your little buddy, they grow up fast.

Yesterday was ok. Got some pain meds from dr, hoping they work while waiting to see a specialist.

I think I might be going for a short drive with kind of friend this afternoon. She unwinds behind the wheel, I like to see the countryside, which only takes ten minutes out of the city.

Re: Taking the plunge

Glad you got some pain relief yesterday @Maggie. How long until you see the specialist?

Countryside time sounds nice. I hear your part of the world is pretty beautiful. How are you feeling about going for a short drive with a kind of friend today?

Re: Taking the plunge

It’s always a weird feeling with kind of friend. She’s a narcissistic personality, so changes like the wind. @CheerBear She might show, and she might not. I’m pretty used to her behaviour and prepare myself for anything. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, I’ve had enough, but I keep going back. 😩😩

I’ve been waiting 9 mths to see the specialist at the general hospital. I could be waiting a while yet. The system here collapsed a long time ago, unfortunately patients and caring medics pay the price.

Hows your day looking.

Re: Taking the plunge

Oh that sounds like it could be really tricky @Maggie. Is the keep going back because having any kind of company is better than little/no kind of company (asking out of curiosity and no need to answer if you dont want to)? That sucks a lot with the wait list 🙁

Today is a tricky-ish one. We'll leave to go in to the city (a decent drive and way out of my comfort zone) for specialist appt then chemo. In between we meet the palliative care team for the first time. Then back here later this afternoon to drop off unwell person then turn around and head back our way. Lots of driving and lots of keeping patient today. I'm really glad I can help and be there though. I had a super day yesterday so I'm feeling pretty OK to do this today which is good 🙂

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Yes, you hit the nail on the head, any kind of company it better than no company. Sad reality for me though. 😥😥

Thats a big day today for you @CheerBear with all the big feels mixed in. No doubt you will fall into bed tonight, then think it all through a hundred times.

A super day yesterday helps. Big smile when I read that. 😁😁

Heading to the kettle for another, do you need a top up.?☕️☕️☕️☕️

Re: Taking the plunge

Totally hear you with the sort of friend and company @Maggie. Where I am there are people that are not people I'd choose to be friends with usually, but I socialise with them when I see them as it's better than not. I wonder whether it's better to not sometimes but always go back too. Tough.

You definitely got it with the crash in bed then think it over a hundred times. The day after has been a big crash day before and I'm expecting it might be tomorrow too. I've kept tomorrow free for whatever feels come my way.

Big smile for me too with yesterday. I am so glad I went in and Little was well enough for me to go. I did something I felt made a difference yesterday, that was a big challenge but I ran with it. It felt very special while I was doing what I did. I then made a huge stuff up and lost an hour of important admin work and didn't flip out about it, so I gave myself extra points for that lol. That would usually be the end of the actual world for me 😉

Yes please with the top up 😊

Re: Taking the plunge

I know often it’s better not to socialise @CheerBear but I always do, plus I come up with all the lame excuses, creativity plus, even for a creative mind. Lol, though more tears than laugh in reality, behind closed doors.

Good on you for the no flip out with the administration thing. The big thing that make a difference is such a good feel, hold on to that one.

Will you be able to have a pj day tomorrow after the big today.?

Re: Taking the plunge

It's a pickle @Maggie. There is racism and homophobia etc. in the social group I'm around. I absolutely hate it and find myself really angry with myself for not taking a louder stand against it. I try and chip away at it when I can and I'm very much on the outer within, probably/definitely appearing cold and distant and ice queenish. It makes my head explode but I know I'd be way, way, waaaay alone otherwise. I think it's better not to socialise and I'm in need of other social interaction, but I still find myself trying to suck it up and do some form of social being thing when I am around them. A lot of deep, well-kept-secret, self-directed anger for that 😑

Definitely pj day tomorrow. And a hair cut. My hair is such a 'thing' for me so it always feels good to have it back to right 🙂

I'd better get a move on. Thanks for the cuppas and for the getting-its. Hope today has moments of good if you do go out. It's tough. Country side might be nice.

Big ❤
