Re: Taking the plunge
oooh I love the spring blossom @Maggie We have blossom trees along one side of one of the major highways down here but I don't drive that road much these days (used to do that to get to previous work) so I am missing that this year. Will need to go along that road tomorrow though to get to some shops I need to go to so will be looking to see if any of those trees are in bloom here yet. I love Spring - so beautiful with all the colours around as well as the days getting longer. ![]()
I have had my heater on nearly non-stop this winter so whilst it has kept me warm it has also meant a huge power bill. Once I pay that this week, get baby food and do a little grocery shopping I won't have much left for the remainder of the fortnight but will get by. Next pay I should be able to catch up a bit - still need to take Toby to the vet for his annual check up though so hoping I can do that next pay as well.
How is you wonderful rock art going? Is it next school holidays you are taking the kids to teach them to do that?

Re: Taking the plunge
@Zoe7 One of the ladies here said her power bill was $400 wow. I haven’t been able to afford to turn mine on. but the electric blanket is getting work out.
Its tough juggling money. I hoped you would be better off being back at work, but it doesn’t sound like it. Vets are expensive, should have a royal commission on their outrageous pricing. But I would not hold back on my baby, and I know you are the same.
School is sounding goodish.
Yes, the school holidays for the painting. Haven’t done much lately, been down, but pushing through. I figure the cloud is going to hang around no matter what, so just do what you can and leave the rest.

@outlander I think I will eventually see them, the positives. I’m just not good at waiting.

Re: Taking the plunge
Mine was $650 @Maggie
Have had the heat pump going 24/7 though this winter. Last vet bill was $450 so that together is just abuot my pay gone after mortgage and monthly bills
I had to borrow some money from my sister to pay the vet - took Cat in for her annual check up and she wasn't eating properly. She had lost a fair bit of weight so needed to do a lot of test - but like you we do anything for our fur babies. She is eating properly now and I am giving her more to try to put a little weight back on. I will need to take her into the vet to weigh her though as I can't do that at home. They are great there so will do that for me.
That cloud can definitely hang around Hon - and it makes it hard to do anything but you have a good attitude towards it - do what you can when you can and find those little moments of joy (like the blossom) when and where you can ![]()

Re: Taking the plunge
@Zoe7 That’s a hefty power bill. And vet on top. I honestly don’t know how families manage these days. I don’t eat meat, but I look at the price and wow, how do you feed a family. Even groceries have gone up. So much stress out there.
Thanks @Zoe7 I don’t always have a good attitude, I just keep it to myself. I’m very good at smiling through my agony. It’s a safety net. I’ve learnt people just don’t want to know. I feel like the biggest fraud most of the time.

You don't have to keep it to yourself here Hon or be anything but you ![]()
It doesn't matter what each one of us are going through we can share and give and receive support here to each other. I have seen you giving that support here recently but remember you are just as deserving of it yourself. I do know it is often hard to reach out for that but we are here for you too @Maggie ![]()

@Maggie Going to head over to far and away before I sign off for the night. Getting really tired but have a couple of things I want to do before I head to bed. Been so lovely catching up with you tonight. I'll check in with you sometime tomorrow to see how you are going. Just a tag away Hon - may not be able to respond straight away when I am at work but will always get back to yu when I get home. Love and hugs to you and little Mags ![]()

@Maggie
Housing uncertainty is pretty basic and triggering.
I am glad your counsellor was able to help and that you are ON the LIST. Maybe eventually you will get a better place, but seeing the positives where you are is good.

I have not had heaps of heating on. We arent as cold as Tassie, and it came to $400. I recently spent $310 at the vet, but they also have a system where if I come in and weigh Patch they let me pick up his meds without always having a consultation or taking a bl##d test. I also have been talking to vets and they say the fact that they have to learn the whole physiology and provide for a range of animals, can be stressful, tho most love thier job Anyway, I just popped by to say hello Maggie.
Hugs and Good Night.
