Re: Taking the plunge
How many days do you think we should be entitled to for mental health. Given employers get blood from a stone most of the time?

They would start with a theme, like crazy hair, or colourful socks, and then games were played based on inclusion and the challenges involved from a team-building perspective rather than a winner-not winner perspective. It was a day of fun and laughter, sharing art and music performances ......
So ..... how about every month or two, as my answer ?

Re: Taking the plunge
I imagine the best way to support people who live the DID experience of life is for those of us who don’t, whether previously aware of it or not, to learn more about it. Is this true from your perspective ?
Is there something we could be doing to support you better when you are feeling down ? If you would like to be tagged into more of the social threads as a distraction, please let us know.

Re: Taking the plunge
@Faith-and-Hope DID even in the MI range ,is a lonely isolating illness. Mainly, people have their own fears related to the drama tv and movies presents. Those of us with it face daily challenges, moment by moment challenges, as do all MI sufferers.
I feel the whole world would be better of without me in it. I have tried to be a little open, but people don't GET it, they want to, but it's weird even to the weird. In the place I'm in atm, I have no idea how to even help myself, so how could anyone else. The deep rejection, and fear of rejection, stops involvement. Then the inner voices, not necessarily the kids, more the abusive voices from the past, tell you how utterly useless and worthless you are, the no one wants you around. It's hard to push through the rubble when you are crushed beneath it.
I guess in a nutshell, only those needing a challenge will find one. Sorry if it's too out there. Not well at all.

Re: Taking the plunge
Your whole second paragraph I could have written myself @Maggie - and I think most of it I have in some form at some stage
It is so difficult to get through each day when you know that you don'f feel any hope for yourself - that all those times you have been made feel so de-valued and worthless are so entrenched within you that nothing (or nobody) can ever change that within you - that every time you begin to see just a glimmer of light it is soon extinguished. The biggest challenge is not living a fulfilling and meaningful life - it is simply trying to 'live'!
