Re: Taking the plunge
Oh @Maggie .... thankyou! You do know how to boost someone's morale dont you? Very kind of you. How are you today anyway, after what would have been a difficult and full day yesterday?
Actually I was just looking for the Art thread, but cannot find it. Will post a couple of my other efforts there. @Faith-and-Hope I think it was you who first directed me there, perhaps you'd be good enough to do so again? Sorry, I'm not good at finding stuff around the forums unfortunately. In fact is there any way that you can keep track of all the threads you've opened yourself? Or all the threads you've contributed to? That would be helpfu if there was.

Re: Taking the plunge
I am a bit anxious about it @Maggie. This procedure comes with its risks. Hoping it will work and give hubby some pain relief. Hoping he does not collapse again. That's the hardest part for me as then I am entirely on my own. The appt is 10:30 - then the manager at my volunteering asked if I could do a shift that afternoon. I said I would as I do not like to let anyone down. Then I have to take my daughter to a docs appt late in the afternoon. A stressful day ahead so am feeling anxious 😩
I saw my daughter today and am proud of how she is going - working hard and is now so much tidier. The move has done her so much good as a person. We made the right decision there.
I love your cross stitch @Maggie - also art. Big or small all have special appeal. I will have to start a craft thread and post some of my old ones up plus show my mermaid kit. Always love to see pics of yours and your garden. How is it holding up to the heat?
The books you are reading sounds interesting - what are they about? I love a good book. How is your blood pressure? Thank you for thinking of me - I know I can always trust you 😊
@Former-Member - how are you going this afternoon? My day is okay - visited my daughter and that went well. We can have a good chat and laugh together now. The latter always eases my anxiety. Feeling anxious about tomorrow because of hubby's spinal injection - always a hard process with risks.
@utopia - hope your psychologist appt goes well. If you are comfortable please let me know how it went. You mentioned pics of my cross stitch - on the weekend I will create a craft thread and post them on there if you are still interested. 😊
Look forward to seeing your artwork @Former-Member
Hi @PeppiPatty@Shaz51@Faith-and-Hope and all. Will be so glad to see the weekend in and tomorrow will be over

@utopia It's by Maya Angelou. A true story by an inspirational author. Oprah Winfrey became good friends almost family with her.

Dear @Former-Member
What I'de give to have a daughter.......
Can you remind me what the injection is for?
You remind me about myself when I would pull myself backwards and forwards and inside out to not cause waves in people's expectations of myself.......
Have you thought about ust being at home .......not volunteering just that afternoon ? Even just to be at home to stare into space for the afternoon......
Your not being lazy. Your taking care of you ??

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I thought tomorrow would be getting hard for you. You do fill your days, but all good if you cope with it. I didn't get round to discussing BP yesterday, I get so uptight with apps. But it's up slightly, I just have to go slow, drink plenty and rest when it's too low, nothing more can be done really, another grin and bear thing.
Im reading Brene Browns books, all four, and I know why the caged bird sings. I've done some xstitch today.
A thread with your other work is a good idea, would love to see them.
You sound proud of D, she is doing well. If people would rather judge her by tattoos, their loss, she's so much more than that, I have one plus a pierced nose, just a small diamond in it. Lol!!!!! And no I didn't get it in the convent.he he he.
I took a pic of a flower in my garden atm, it's beautiful. I'll post it after this. Rest up tonight can you relax in a bath???

Re: Taking the plunge
@utopia - your psychologist sounds good - some really good suggestions. I am working on the positive affirmations presently as my anxiety is getting to me today. It does help. When I very anxious about something very confronting I feel like crying - so am looking at ways to distract myself currently. I believe deep down it will work out so I am not sure why I still get like this. Maybe it's because I am so alone in it and feel more vulnerable - I think that always makes it harder. Can't wait for the weekend 😄 So glad to read you are going so well in your own time and limits - it's a real credit to your strength and how "you are a success". You are beating this my friend and you and me both know how hard it is and how it's not for the faint of heart.
@PeppiPatty - good to see a post from you. How are you going? You sound well. My husband is having a spinal epidural block type injection to numb his chronic back pain. Last time he had it he passed out and we thought we lost him. That is why I am anxious. It's terrible sitting in a waiting room under these circumstances alone........I have to strengthen within, my husband is everything to me. I would love to stay home but I gave my word. If I don't turn up at the volunteering others will miss out on there appts they have made. I can't let them down....Thank you for your support as it means a lot.
@Maggie - thank you for your support of my daughter.....you are right, she is so much more than her tattoos. I just wish everyone could see past them. She has been put down by some of my husband's family members for them - I no longer see them. My best friend once said she wouldn't walk with me if my daughter was with us because of them! To which I replied "your sons have them". She said because they were men that it was different. I said "there is no difference". She has been a very good friend so I let it go. But if she said it again I would chose my daughter over such igorance and I would move away from her. I can't understand people at times. She is good with my daughter now - probably because my daughter has changed a lot and is more respectful to us. And she also likes what a hard worker my daughter's is (she has two jobs).
This is a different generation to the last and people need to adjust to this fact. I did. I never judge by appearances. It's what is in the heart that's matters and my daughter's is becoming good.
I never told my husband what my friend said as he would think less of her and they are close...My daughter has a nose ring too but not a pretty one like yours. It's one of those horse shoe ones (not sure what it is called). I just think they are ugly, she knows this and ignores me lol, she is her own person which is a good thing - small diamond ones are pretty.
Looking forward to seeing the pic of your garden
Too hot for a bath here my friend. Knowing me I will be somewhat nervous until tomorrow passes. I will reaffirm the positive and keep myself as strong as possible. I will try and hold onto my dream. Thank you for thinking of me.
