Been in hospital

Been in hospital

Hi all. In case anyone has been wondering where I've been, I was admitted to hospital on the 7th of August and spent 10 days in care. I'm currently at a PARC facility and will be leaving there next weekend. I've missed sooo much on here during my absense and not sure I'll ever catch up on all the happenings, but rest assured I'm thinking of you all and wishing you all the very best.

Kind regards,

Ellie.

Re: Been in hospital

Hi LJ and thanks for your kind regards. All in all, it's been a positive experience and I'm starting to feel much better. I have actually asked what PARC stands for and was told, but if I don't write everything down, my unfocused mind forgets straight away. I'll have to ask again and let you know.

Ellie.

Re: Been in hospital

Thanks chookmojo. That makes sense as the programs certainly fit with prevention and recovery care.

Re: Been in hospital

Hi @Ellie,

I hope the chance to be cared for for a wee while has been a positive experience for you, despite whatever took you there in the first place. All my best wishes that it supports you in moving forward. Thanks for sharing that you're okay.

Kind regards,

Aonaran

Re: Been in hospital

Thanks to all your kind thoughts. Whilst at PARC, I had no access to a computer to reply, so was only able to reply when home on leave, however I was discharged this morning so will be about for a few days.

I've leased a unit in Belmont, Geelong for at least the next 12 months where I hope to soon get into a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program. I had to have a permanent address in the Geelong region to get into DBT. My current home is on the market and I'll know tomorrow (Tues) if the young couple who want to buy it have got their loan. At the end of my 12 month lease on the unit and provided I'm not "homesick" I'll most likely buy a unit in the Belmont area.

I had my final review this morning before discharge and it didn't go too well. Unbeknown to me, the unit I leased is out of the range of my current team, so I'll be transitioned over to a new team. I don't mind that so much, but I'll also loose my lovely and knowledgeable psychiatrist. Those with BPD can only imagine what that did to me when I heard the bad news. I immediately clicked with my current psychiatrist and now I have to go through the process of learning to trust another one, if indeed that's even possible. I'll try to engage with the new team and see how it goes, even though my current thoughts are to not have anything to do with them at all, but well see how it pans out when I catch up with them in a week or so.

Once again, thanks for your support. I'll keep this updated as things progress, although I'm not sure I'll have Internet access for awhile.

Kind regards,

Ellie.
