Hello to all here
I live with bipolar and have for many years. I've had 2 hospital admissions over 17 years. When I was in my late 30's my bipolar seemed to start affecting everything in my life. I had a breakdown and didn't work for 2 years. I had another in 2015 and am working to recover now. I was homeless by choice. I lived in my car because I just didn't want anyone around me. I had to get robbed to realise it was not a safe choice. I spent 8 months in hospital. I've had the police search for me because I continually absconded from hospital stays. My medication sedated me, increased my weight (tho they say it doesn't), increased my insomnia, increased my hearing voices (tho they say it doesn't). I'm enstranged from my family. I'm not working now. Its September 2017 , I have a good pyschologist and pyschiatrist. I have 2 support workers. I'm sharing a home with others too. Its been a rough journey. Its one foot in front of the other right now. My mind is okay, it fluctuates day to day. At times chaotic, at times wanting order, at times manic behaviour, at times cant shower, cook, be with people - is kind of weird. I'm here on this site to hear other's journey, stories and their way or the path to recovery or reclaim independance. Thanks for listening
