Fabulous thread. I love poetry too. I was with a group whom was discussing "who am I?", to which inspired the following poem that I wrote and would ike to share with you all;-
Am I a person of substance or just a fail,
Am I attractive or just too pale,
Am I intelligent or just deluded,
Am I worthy enough to be included
Am I essential or can just be replaced,
Am I admirable or just a disgrace,
Am I strong or just too broken,
Am I of value or am just a token
Am I funny or just a dummy,
Am I a good parent or a useless mummy,
Am I worthy of love or just indifference,
Am I important or don't mean threepence
Am I wise or just hot air,
Am I compassionate or just don't care,
Am I interesting or just a bore,
Am I warm or really need to thaw
Am I patient or just too short,
Am I virtuous or just don't get caught,
Am I truthfull or just live a lie,
Am I truly living or just alive
Am I searching or just cursing,
Am I serious or just rehearsing,
Am I looking or just too blind,
Am I helpful or just unkind
Am I in reality or lost in space,
Am I belonging or just missed the race,
Am I stable or my thoughts just scattered,
Am I worthy or just don't matter

@Former-Member Wow! can I relate to so many parts of your poem particularly
Am I living or just alive
Am I in reality or lost in space,
Am I stable or my thoughts just scattered, .... I think it is apt! I will have to re read it xx

@Former-Member I think so many of us will be able to find a bit of themselves in your poem and as we change over time those bits will change as well.... just lately I have been questioning myself about what am I doing with my life, where am I going. Is this all that there is? and should I be content with that?Being a spiritual person I am ready for the next step when it comes but in the mean time what should I do with my life?

Thank you. I have asked myself the very thoughts you ponder and stated here. Read the end of the poem, the last line particularly. It starts with feeling worthy - then everything we do that's good has value. It takes time to come together and realise "I am" (human being born with individual unique worth that can get lost along the way but it's there) 🤗🌹💕

Thank you lovely lady @Former-Member. Spot on - I AM that comes together with recognising our inherited potential worth. 😊 How many of us second guess that at times? The ors or what ifs (🖐🏼). Which can lead to feeling depressed. Lots of love right back at you ❤️
