The other ones I think I have right:
19 Across: Odd opals first found in desert waterhole (5) OASIS
20 Down: Old-timer laid up beneath the sun (7) SUNDIAL
28 Across: At first Theodore Roosevelt ailed, then brought up the rear (7)TRAILED
