When replying to a post

When replying to a post

Hi. I read in here that if you click on the @ then the person's name tag it would automatically enter it. I've tried this several times and it doesn't work for me. So I either have to memorise the name (if it's short) or write it down before I reply. Is there a simpler way PLEASE!!

Hi @LooneyToones Are you using desktop, mobile or tablet to access the Forums?

Hi @LooneyToones

It only seems to work on desktop tablet and when you click the 'reply' option to open a new window with a text box.

If you use the quick reply option it doesn't work.

🙂

Hi @LooneyToones

As @Former-Member mentioned above, the predictive text for usernames only works on Desktop and tablets.

However, when you press reply on mobile, you should still be able to see the usernames for the three posts above the one you are responding to, so hopefully that helps a little.

Re: When replying to a post

Hi @LooneyToones
I use an iPhone too and often use the desktop site to add pictures, edit or use the dropdown @ mention feature.
Here is how you can do that if you want.

Press and hold on the refresh symbol until a menu appears (see below)

The menu will look like this and select request desktop site

Then your page will reload to the desktop site and look a bit like this

You can then resize or navigate around until it looks like this using two fingers to make it fit your screen. All you need to then is select reply.

The next screen will look like this and when you type @ you will see the drop down menu to see who you want to reply too. The menu only shows the last 5 members who posted. You can also add a picture if you want by pressing the picture icon (highlighted).

I hope this is helpful @LooneyToones and makes using the forum easier for you. The desktop site is fiddler as you resize and move the screen around but it offers the same functions which is good.

Best wishes. 😊
