HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

@Owlunar. I miss my old job. I miss the clients. I miss feeling useful. But the thought of working now - not possible. More time needed.
I see my psychiatrist not tomorrow but the following Monday. So I'll tell him what my psychologist said. But I think he'll agree.
My psychologist is sending him a letter - feedback on my therapy. He doesn't feel my meds are working. And to be honest, I just can't tell. I can't tell up from down at the moment.
I was hoping my memory and cognitive ability would have improved some by now. But feel I'm getting worse in that area.
Trying not to get sucked back into my negative / depression vortex.
Just telling myself I just need a few days rest and then I can get back into fighting this disease.

Re: HOME

Thank you @soul. Should be a good week. Going to tackle a few house hold chores I've neglected. Cleaner house hopefully equals a better mood.
Hope you have some enjoyable plans set for this week.

Re: HOME

@utopia I'm just dropping in to wish you a good week. I've only read bits as my concentration is low. I have read many of your responses on other threads and your understanding and care for others is inspiring.

Re: HOME

That sounds like a plan @utopia

Take your time and do things bit by bit and you are right - cleaning the house does improve the situation

I miss going to work too - it's more than just the job and the money - there is satisfaction and the social side is important too - hopefully you will get back to it - I wish you the best

Re: HOME

Thanks @Owlunar. I finally had a much needed shower. Feel heaps better. Did a load of washing. Folding washing etc. Cleaned dog bowls. Did grocery shopping. Fridge doesn't look so empty now. Lol.
I hope your day is going well today. Surprisingly it's a sunny 17° / 18° today. Amazing after our cold days recently. So nice to feel the sun nice and warm on my face.

Probably just make a sandwich for dinner @BlueBay. My boy is working tonight and he eats what they haven't sold at the end of the day. Lol.

Re: HOME

So I received a letter from CentreLink today. Very different from the letters they normally send me.
They are requesting my doctor fill out a different type of CentreLink Medical Certificateddetailing what my illness is, whether it's temporary or permanent, what my treatment is, how long I will be 'sick'.
The letter states that there is a time period for being sick - 13 weeks! I've had a years worth of medical certificates in the last 12 months.
My psychiatrist doesn't know yet if it's temporary or permanent - although I had planned on asking him this question anyway when I see him on Monday.
But if it's permanent, would CentreLink even aporove a disability pension. I don't think so. As when I'm feeling better I should be able to work, until the next episode.
My psychiatrist is waiting for me to 'stabilise' (workcover terminology) - to decide if I will ever get better. If I won't get better. Or if I'll fluctuate between the two. I need him to do that, so WorkCover can sort out my % of incapacity. That should help with CentreLink, but that's months away yet. And I don't think CentreLink will wait that long.
I can't afford mentally to be pushed into looking for work. And I can't afford financially to lose my $260 a fortnight. That's our food and bills and petrol money.
Am scared CentreLink will cut me off. I tried calling them today, but as usual their phone line was permanently engaged. (That's what happens when you sack a heap of workers, to save money). But that doesn't help me.
Maybe I should ask my Mind Australia worker to make an appointment for me with CentreLink and she can come with me. But I'll still need my psychiatrist to fill out that form. My gp can't do it. As the gp I saw for 4 years left our area last year. Started seeing another gp - but I didn't like her. And have only had one appointment with a new one. So she doesn't really know me - except to say I have White Coat Syndrome. Lol.
Gotta laugh or you cry.
Feel like crying. Why does everything have to be so bloody hard and complicated.
