Something’s not right

Now what?

Now what?

Good morning all

So I've come to the conclusion that I need to continue to live, survive the daily battles. For everyone that loves me. I've understood that I have to take responsibility and that I have to participate in day to day life and also start earning a living again.

As I am writing this I can see the flaw in my thinking. I understand things on an intellectual level. I've also understood on an emotional level that it would have a traumatic impact on everyone who loves me if I hurt myself.

But where does that leave me?

Re: Now what?

Good morning all,

I'm sorry I haven't been in touch, it's been a whirlwind of emotions and I think a new reality has to sink in. Even more patience, even more treatment, medication and no end in sight.

Hello All and @Former-Member

Yesterday’s discussion re recovery has opened so many holes in my fragile silk paper house. I’ve talked to the support chat but I feel that as time progresses I regress. From having ambitious goals I have now entered a phase in my life where I need to stabilise before I can even look at recovery. I find that somehow pretty depressing

Hi @Former-Member

I am sorry you are having a bit of difficulty today in relation to the topic last night. I wanted to let you know how great it is that you came to the discussion and joined in though.

It became very clear that the word 'recovery' is actually quite a triggering word for most involved with mental health so you are not alone in that thinking. We looked at how you could reframe or challenge our feelings around this word, coming up with other words and also challenging goal setting.

Aiming to be stable, or be kind to ourseves can be 'goals' in themselves. So can self awareness.

I hope you feel okay and that maybe this reflection helps. If you do want to discuss this more in a one on one setting I really encourage you to speak to the Helpcentre. I understand this is a difficult subject but maybe we could see your achievements recently as:

1. joining a discussion that you were maybe a bit wary of

2. sharing your trigger around the word recovery

Just some thoughts. Every small win can count
