Hi @Former-Member
It's quite a story - my grandfather who had worked on the land in England told me that before the snow it would be bitterly cold but once the snow started falling it could take the cold out of the air - I have found this myself in the rare times I have been in the snow
It does look nice but that can be deceptive. My grandfather also told me about blizzards and not to worry about them - my inherited memory would tell me - and it did. I was driving into the Cradle Valley in beautiful sunshine and went around a corner and saw the blizzard approaching - that was some drive but I had cars in front and cars behind - but that is not something I want to repeat
And that wrangler knew about the horse - I could see his face and at the beginning of the ride he was laughing but he stopped when he saw me control the horse. Other women said he laughed too. Years later I know I should have maybe said something but it's too late now and yes - it's one of my stories
That dog was vicious - I was wearing tough denim and my leg muscles are still strong - but back in my thirties I cycled, swam and ran a lot and I was very fit. The dog had more of a mouthful than he could manage and let go - his owners were there and sad he had done worse - oh yeah - I really hope they got rid of the dog before they had children - I have been scared of big dogs since then and not got over it
I like smaller dogs but not enough to have another one - I had a Cocker-Spaniel-Lab-Cross my then-h wanted me to run with in the early mornings as I ran through market garden areas before there were people up and about. The dog had all the devotion of the lab and the stupidity of the spaniel - he got into so much trouble the neighbours were at me about it all the time. We had double-gates but he managed to get out and often we could never know how. I would be on my way to work and I would get on the bus and look back because other people were talking about the dog on the road - I didn't admit he was mine - running around loose on a major highway - so he had to go
Another one of my stories - I am really into story-telling today - time I went out actually
