The interruption of the bad thoughts and feelings with a nurturing thought and feeling towards yourself instead, that seems to help me, @Ant7. If I can keep it up, I am hoping it will be helpful longer term too.

Ok at the moment ,just woke up,will have my moments of sadness and distress during the day,I can count on that,and feel it at Xmas.I hope you have a nice Xmas with your family.I can see a point of @Mazarita in regards to the psychologist in that I never felt at peace with myself.

In my experience @Ant7 that comes with having depression and or anxiety.When I have walked over the years,it comes on like someone has just hit me in the back of the head in regards to distress,and the few days of riding out a storm etc.It comes like waves rolling in.
