I'm scared I'm going to be homeless again. I was discharged from hospital today and I can't go back to my old unit. I'm at a friends so technically I have somewhere to sleep but I don't know what to do or how long this will last. Anxiety is keeping up and not sleeping is one of my triggers for psychosis so I'm getting scared of that. I was homeless 5 years ago. I don't want to go back to sleeping on the streets in the middle of a Tasmanian winter. And my case manager is on leave til next week so I can't get help to get me a place. Im stuck
I didn't get a room at the main place I was trying to get into, however I've been put on the waiting list there but who knows how long that will be. I can't stay at my friends anymore after this recent admission to hospital (I was admitted again yesterday) I'm due to be discharged tomorrow but don't know where to go. I'm going to call my housing worker tomorrow because he didnt get back to me today to see if he knows anywhere else I can go while I wait to see if I get accepted into the place I want to go to. I'm so scared

Re: Homeless
@redheaded That is awful and I can well imagine how very scary it must be. I super hope your housing worker will be able to help you tomorrow. It is absurd to think that someone can be discharged from hospital with nowhere to go.

Re: Homeless
Hello @redheaded
Hope you have been sleeping somewhere reasonable. Its still mid winter ... thinking of you.
I did not think hospitals would discharge people with nowhere to go but keep searching til a bed was found.
Take care

@Former-Member,
That was great advice you gave there to someone in a very difficult situation. Well done. I really get emotional when i hear about MI and homelessness. Its such a recurring theme.
